I wasn't offended and am equally perplexed why anyone should want to take issue with you about it, it's not like you were advocating gang rape as a life choice or frequently make posts designed to shock and annoy.
I think a rape victim would be offended.
Why would you be perplexed by someone taking offence to such a trivialisation of something horrific?
I have not been raped, for the record.
I just felt it was crass and insensitive and chose to point it out as such. I would imagine that our female posters among us would in some cases be more offended than me and that is not to say that this doesn't happen to men because it does.
If I was highlighted as being offensive (and I have been previously) then I would have the grace to either PM the person I offended or perhaps apologise to the open forum.
I offended Cate some time ago with a post that I genuinely thought (as I am sure Matt did) was totally innocuous, but seeing as I offended someone I chose to apologise.
I believe that is called either humility or manners or indeed both.
