At least he has the balls to acknowledge that he was wrong. I think the guy gets a lot of unfair criticism.

Personally, I don't mind Stringer (its alan ****ing young who drives me nuts), but he doesn't help himself by saying something is "nailed on" when clearly he had about as much clue as the rest of us.

Perhaps if he stopped building things up to ridiculous levels he wouldnt get this amount of criticism.

Perhaps people shouldn't believe everything he says as gospel. There are loads of opinions and rumours on the internet. Why should he not speculate?
 
According to Sky Sports News, West Ham have been given permission to speak to DJ Campbell. Presumably they have dropped their reported interest in CMS.

(Mind you, SSN also said that QPR had offered £1.25m for DL Campbell).
 
According to Bert (the man in the know on Foxestalk), McKail-Smith spoke to West Ham today and turned them down in favour of us. Signing to be confirmed tomorrow. I don't know what to expect with this lad (Craig!)?
 
He's clearly a risk for that sort of money, and I hope he comes with the right attitude. If what were reading is ture, it looks like he's dragged it out and we were his final option.

Part and parcel of having wealthy owners I'm afraid. If they (other clubs) know there is money available, the price will go up.

Well, I for one are happy to see players like CMS coming to us, and not to clubs like WBA (Cox..) etc. I believe Sven is putting together a side he feels can get us in to the Prem, cost becomes only relevant when this has failed.

100% agree.

I'm not entirely sure about CMS, but then again decent teams in this league and teams in the Premier League are interested in him... and I think they know better than I/we do!
 
I personally think this will be a great signing, I can see him grabbing 20 goals if we offer the right support. As has been said, very happy to see us and not west brom or west ham signing him, also shows the seriousnes of our new owners that we were prepared to outbid others. Can't wait for this season.
