Surely that compo for under-24s thing is begging to be challenged in court as soon as it causes a move to break down?

If we can keep him to the end of the season then there has to be a great chance he'll be taken by the euphoria of being champions (hopefully) and want to be part of the team in the championship. Wolves are not even sure to be promoted.

Well Jordan from Palace had his lawyers all over the ruling thanks to the Bostock deal and look how that turned out.

According to knowitall on FT, Hobbs has recently signed a 3 year deal with Liverpool.

He's very popular here too, and hopefully that will go some way to persuading him to stay.

Chants of "sign him up" following his goal today.

Pass 55 pts by Christmas - Wolves are certs now. I thought they might fall away but then I looked at the table.

As for Davies, MM should tempt Wolves with an offer.

Or just tempt Davies with one, seeing as his contract's up at the end of the season ;)

Yes, but Bostock wanted to move. I'm thinking about when a player is out-of-contract but cannot make a move he wants due to his would-be new club being unable or unwilling to pay the set compo. That's when I imagine the shit will hit the fan.

Wolves are losing at home today.

They'll win.

That may be to our advantage too. If wolves fo in to the Prem, they'll need to buy better players so may be happy to sell/let go a player who wasn't in their promotion team but who looked good two levels lower than the prem.

that was a bad result for us, apparently their midfield was particularly abysmal as well.. still though, I think a solid offer might still give us a chance of getting him as it will give them money to go out and get someone who may be capable of playing in the Premiership. I personally think we can rule out any chance of getting him on a permanent basis, Wolves will want to keep a young up and coming home-grown talent whether they go up or not and they aren't exactly going to be desparate for the cash if they do get promotion (which is obviously looking likely despite today's blip). You also have to look at the player himself, the better career move at the moment would be to stay at Wolves.

But there's plenty more fish in the sea and it just shows that Pearson knows what type of players he wants in his side and that he likes players with a little bit of attacking flair such as Davies, Dyer, and Gradel starting to break through into the first team. He seems to be a clever man and no doubt he will have a plan B if we aren't able to secure his services past the end of January.

If we want to look on the dark side, surely Pearson will be snapped up by a Prem side after the season anyway.

Doubt it....when's the last time bar Ince that a Premiership side went for a lower league manager?

Blackburn went for Ince and the results were naff. So I can't see anyone taking that risk again after that.

I hope that you are right.

Possibly, although unlike Ince, Pearson has a bit more experience of the higher leagues, including a little Premiership experience with Newcastle if I remember right. No idea how he did mind :icon_lol: anyone know what his record was while in temporary charge of Newcastle or have I got the wrong end of the stick. Still it should be largely down to Milan whether or not we entertain offers for Pearson from other clubs.

Milan wouldn't have any say. Look at Grayson and many others.
