Isn't he supposed to have kissed his Blackburn badge in front of the Leicester fans during a game as well?

Dunno, was he at Blackburn when we played them in that cup match?

I know he definitely did his first visit to the WS with Brum, not only did he help the ref make up his mind to send Matt Elliott off, Brum scored from a corner on the East/North side and turned round and kissed the badge towards US in L1(not his own fans and this was before he went to join in the goal celebrations) feckwit.

Yeah, it was Brum I was thinking of, just got the clubs mixed up.

After reading many of the posts on here and being reminded of things that I had forgotten, may I hereby apologise for my applause icons in post 73.

I withdraw them with immediate effect.

Exactly. I don't think fans are shallow enough just to boo an ex-player. I remember Claridge, Lennon and Heskey all getting fantastic receptions from City fans on their returns in the past.

Savage is booed and chanted "wanker" because, as BM said earlier, he has shown a horrible amount of disrespect towards Leicester and our fans since he left us.

When it comes to individual games I think the opinions of people who attend games are no more valid than those who watch on tv or online. Attending as opposed to watching on tv is a personal choice - I just feel it's a better experience.

I had not been meaning those who watch the match on TV or Online. I had intended to contrast those at the match with those who listened to it on the radio. I should have remembered that there are those who are able to watch a game like Derby online.

On Boxing Day I was unable to get to the Walkers and watched it on TV. For me the game on TV was slightly anaemic. The only time I have watched a game Online was the game against Coventry where I attended at the Walkers and then watched the first half on BBC Catchup the next day - largely to see the disputed goal again. This worked well and I will use Catchup whenever I am able.

On a point of linguistics I wish TV would not talk about something being live when they show it as it happens. A word such as "current TV" might do but to me a screen is never live. One of my favourite phrases is thatg life should not be looked at through a window and I would extend that ro say that for me football is better not watched on a screen.

I disagree. On TV you only see about 1/5 of the pitch at any one time and you miss any off the ball runs or play you see when you're actually there.

Not to mention the replays that seem to show over parts of play.
I'd go along with that. Even though I've seen City on TV a fair few times this season, plus all the highlights, I tend to hold back on opining on individual performances because I don't think I'm really qualified.

Having said that, I apparently understand more from seeing 1/5 of a few games than some people manage by attending every match. :102:

Mind you, those people probably have trouble with shoelaces, so that might explain it.

Savage pissed me off when he did his damnedest to get Matt Elliot sent off when B'ham came down to the Walkers. Complaining like **** to the ref who eventually red carded Matty.

"Look at Oakley clapping their fans"

"Yeah he's clapped them three times and us only once. What a complete disrepectful slap in the face that is for you and I"

"I'm hurt, I will never forgive him for this"

You forgot to put in the bit about booing him as he walked off - it's an essential part of being a City fan

The reason Elliott got sent off is because he forearm smashed one of their players in the face. It was one of the most blatant red cards I have ever seen at the Walkers. Savage might have gone mental at the ref, but it was only because it was such a bad challenge.

I dont like Savage and he did act a cock that day, especailly when celebrating every goal like it was a winning cup final goal, but to blame him for Elliott smashing someone in the face is going a little too far.

Savage has claimed he is one of our all-time greats!! Thus can not understand the booing!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

We made you nobhead, you didn't make us. You played a secondary role to Lennon and Izzet. Your input into that era was as equal as Rob Ullathorne's or Kasey Keller's. Just good.

I don't actually recall blaming him for what Matty did.

You are arguing Savage got Elliott sent off. I was just pointing out that Savage's actions had nothing to do with it

Whatever you may think of Robbie Savage, he was an absolutely integral part of a very successful midfield 3. Comparing his contribution to Rob Ullathorne's is way off the mark, however much of a cock you happen to think he is.

Personally, I think he is a childish man, lacking in intelligence and perspective (exactly as he was when he was at Leicester), but I'm still grateful for the contribution he made to our relative successes of his era.

No. I didn't say that he got him sent off. I said that he was doing his damnedest to get him sent off. My arguement here is that if Savage held his time here in such high regard, he would have kept his nose out of whatever was going on rather than putting his ten pennorth in to help ensure that a former team mate was sent off.

I disagree personally but that's a subjective matter. I can't believe he has the nerve to say he is 'all-time' when he admitted in an interview that he gave up on the season when we lost to Bolton 5-0 on opening day.

As for Ullathorne, am I the only one who thought he did a good job for us when fit?

So you expected Savage to stand there and not say anything whilst his CURRENT team mate was smashed in the face. So by your argument if a derby player had smashed one of our players in the face Oakley should just step aside and not say anything?

I would agree that he is certainly not an 'all-time' great, I just think he did an excellent job for us when he was with us.

As for Ullathorne, I thought he did a fine job, just not at the level of importance, nor for the tenure of Savage.
