Do Stoke hate us that much?

Well it looks as though the Stoke fans will have their wish unless we can pull of a West Brom style result OR Southampton only get one point from both of their games

Or we get a draw, and Norwich win away at Sheffield.

Well, maybe going down a division looks more likely.

The tradition of hate goes a lot further back than that. I can well remember their fans' invasion of the Kop in December 1966 with their menacing cries of ESS - TEE - OH - KAY - EEE and C - I, C - I - T, C - I - T - Y, CITY.

The Kop and the score swayed one way and then the other that day - the Stoke team and the Stoke fans were well on top early on, but it was Leicester City who won it 4-2 whilst their fans regained the centre of the Kop with the Stoke fans battered and scattered.

And I don't even suppose that was the start of it!

If you recall this was the era of the football supporters theatrical "Zigga Zagga" based on the violence practiced by Stoke fans - and it actually includes references to attacking us.

Stoke is an extremely unpleasant place and Stoke City supporters seem to revel in unpleasantness. I can't think of any place I would less want to be at next Sunday afternoon.

I bloody knew it!

A few weeks ago we were talking about this scenario happening on another thread.

It is going to be a nightmare next week, we either go down and the whoel country gets to witness it or somehow, we pull off a victory which keeps us up(assuming WBA beat Saints tomorrow) and Hull wins to nick the second placeout of Stoke's hands......and then we have to face not very happy Stoke muppets!

I do fear trouble next week. And I wouldn't do Stoke fans the injustice of accusing them of starting any trouble above that of our own morons.
