Miserable sod. What is the fecking point of spending vast sums of money on specialist staff, player supplements, diet and exercise regimes and so on when this sort of thing goes on?
Here's a question that I'd have liked NP to be asked on the phone in last night. Where is your scientific evidence that getting wankered between matches is good, or even neutral, for your performance levels?
Professionals my arse.

I'd imagine the point is to try and improve your chances of winning the league, so money clearly well spent.
I'm still with BN on this. Active professional athletes shouldn't be ingesting poison at all. The 'end of season' excuse for players to do what they like strikes me as the worst kind of short-term thinking. If a player came back in July two stone overweight he'd be in the reserves until the January transfer window.

But it's the same sort of irresponsibility when it comes to personal fitness. I'm sure the players at every club in the Championship have had a fair amount of drink throughout the season, but the fact that everyone else is doing it doesn't make it right. If the other teams adopted a tactic of shooting at their own goal for 90 minutes, it doesn't mean it's a good idea to copy it - even if we win the title doing it.But you are talking about a player returning 2 stone overweight and the lads enjoying an award ceremony held purely for them, ever so slightly different.
I wonder if any of the players sampled any alcohol over the last pre-season?
You are correct. And you'd be right to think there's probably some bias.BM. Am I correct in recalling you don't drink?
