It would really piss me off if I went to a game and was forced to stand because the people in front of me decided to.

They don't obstruct anybody's view though, that's the thing. They stand at the back. They don't sit anywhere near the away fans, cause aggregation or trouble in any form and are no health and safety risk to anybody.

It's just a gutless and ridiculous ploy from the club to make an example and show that they're "doing something" about it. Shameful treatment of the group, they really haven't got a clue.

Correct! If they just sat down everything would be fine.

Who sits down and sings for a whole match? That's just not going to happen.

The club have no leg to stand on with this. They can't bring up nonsense about legislation because they allow it to happen in other areas of the ground. Most of the running is against them in media outlets, the FSF and soon the council.

Bet they're absolutely shitting themselves....

Both sides are making mountain over a molehill. LeeH is right in what is happening, it is all to do safety licenses after the hillsbrough disaster. The power that be make us sit down so they can identify us over CCTV, and to keep people safe.

I personally have no problem with people standing at the football, but I can see the arguments for and against. The stewards are being told what to do by the people in charge.

Bit of a PR problem for the club to sort out.

I agree. It isnt consistent though is it? How many premier leaugue games do we see sections of fans all stood up for the duration of the game?

the only way you'll get over it as by having large numbers of 50 plus stand up.

Never happen. Knackered knees and hips at that age. 50 plus folk have no choice but to sit.

Some of us in our forties struggle to stand up for 90 minutes
Walking for 90 minutes is OK, but if I try to stand still for that long my knees are extremely painful.
It makes me think twice before going to away games where I know I might have to stand because the stewards don't enforce the rules.

Some of us at 29 struggle to stand that long! Playing football, ok, knees swell slightly, but not too bad, however, standing for a gig, not good. Knees really swell and lock up, I can hardly walk, and trying to get down stairs is ridiculous, I look a right idiot waddling down them not being able to bend my knees
