I would very much doubt that a few hundred Fosse Boys standing, yelling and singing will add 10,000 to the gate.

... but our version of signing someone like Bellamy might do if this £10million is real.

Surely Man City must have loads more good players to offload now they are limited to a 25 man squad?

Santa Cruz? :102:

I thought the Fosse Boys, in order 'to show the team we love our support', spent half the match pratting around in the concourse. Still, I guess they can stand up there.

The certainly will be another side.

Not sure what to make of this quote though.

Female member Deb Breward, 46, said: "We were made to sit down for the whole game when people sat right in front of us were allowed to stand unchallenged.
"We are a good-natured group of supporters who just want to cheer on our team – I'm nearly in my 50s for goodness' sake – I'm not there to cause trouble.
"Lots of my friends were denied entry. The club took their money off them, let them buy tickets and beer, but then turned them away at the gates just because they were wearing Fosse Boys scarves. What a joke."

They were made to sit down throughout the game, except when people were sat infront of them. :102:

And the club sold them a ticket and beer but they weren't allowed in the ground. So were did they get the buy the beer.

They have another thread about it on Fosseboys Talk from someone claiming to be part of the club.

If it's true then they are going with the persistent standing. Seems odd when they tolerate so many others to do it.

They lost a lot of my 'support' when I read that the 'noise' thing was the impression they got from a conversation with the club as opposed to the actual reason specified.

A lot of folk on FT just can't get over the standing thing. It's quite easy, it's banned and the only way you'll get over it as by having large numbers of 50 plus stand up. However, that doesn't excuse the other isolated standing up across the stadium.

Standing is a grey area. There's no legislation banning standing; just imposing all seater stadia in the top two tiers. It's ground regulations that prohibit standing, and these can, and are, enforced as and when clubs feel like it. The reason that ground regs ban standing is mostly because some of the decision makers involved in granting licences that allow matches to take place want fans to be seated, as a) it makes them easier to control and b) makes them easier to identify. Once fans stand, they lose control, and so they threaten not to grant licences if persistent standing is tolerated. In most cases, as long as the clubs send stewards to politely ask fans to sit down, they've done all they reasonably can to address the issue.

I would prefer it if everyone just agreed that some fans like to sit, some fans like to stand, and everybody should be allowed to do what they want, as long as they don't offend those who want to do the opposite.

It would really piss me off if I went to a game and was forced to stand because the people in front of me decided to.
