They'll be back. Banning orders don't stop suburbian brawls.
Good people sometimes turn bad, through the influence of others or various events in their lives. Good people will always come good again, even it takes some time. This could be what those type of folk need to sort them out.

Some people are rotten to the core, and as you point out, they're the ones that'll be back.

I know (ish) one of those chaps - not nasty at all, but weak and drinks in the wrong places with the wrong people. Sad really, but inevitable.
The thing is, is these sentences and banning orders will do nothing but add a stripe to the uniform of thuggery they parade in their world of shite.

Maybe, but they're behaviour can't go unpunished. I can't think of an alternative punishment other than to treat like them like the animals they behave like, and lock them up.

They should also get counselling of some kind and have an additional sentance to work in their local community with refuse collection, anti-graffitti painting, care in the community work etc. And this work should be on a parole-type of deal coinciding with football days for the next 5 years, in other words they miss it, they go back to prison.

every club has football hooligans....and always will

the trouble is some of them do not even like football...and the only reason they do it is because of the buzz they get out of it.

i know a few hooligans, and i have asked them the same questions like why do you do it...why do you put the football clubs name in the gutter.

and the response is no club comes to leicester to take the p*ss,and also its like a drug.

i have been confronted twice following leicester since 1979,and its not a very nice experience.

once up at middlesborough, and other when we went into oxford town centre after the match.

luckily at middlesboro we ran and seen some nearby coppers, and at oxford we was in a pub called the westgate and managed to talk ourselves out of it.

but swellbelly has a point,at one point i wished there had been some of leicesters firm there

i suppose you have to be in the situation to realize.

swellybelly only has a point because these people £firms" are as thick as pig shit.

As far as I'm concerned you were an innocent individual attending a football match, the other "firm" should be well aware of that, but still decided to attack. These people are not the rescuers, they're the instigators. If the "Baby Squad" didn't exist, would you have been attacked?

I think in that situation I would be hoping for the Police to rescue me, not more of the same people to join in. That said, I've never been in that situation.

They're not heroes, they're the f**king villains.

ha ha some of you take yourselves far too seriously!!,ok yeah i forgot most of you get the supporters club coaches right to the grounds and don't have to march from train stations thus avoiding any chance of trouble not that any of you even sound like you could be relied on in the event of being attacked you can only attack people from the other side of your computer screen.
ok you tell me to grow up and call me twat but to be honest i don't give a **** i just know if push came to shove and it has on a couple of occasions you have to defend yourself you do it without thinking it's natural.
i just hope that none of you ever get done over by a thug of any description anywhere, peace be with you.:soccer:

Actually I know plenty of folk who go on the SC coaches who can 'handle themselves'(and in the 'old days' did just that) plus I've been by car and train to a fair few games and know how to behave so I don't get pinpointed by the local plod as being a potential moron looking for a ruck.

and you have absolutely no idea about the people who use this site and whether they can be relied on if such a situation as you've put forward happened. Just because they don't go looking for it doesn't mean they can't look after themselves if they had to!

And as for your last comment, well we all run the risk of getting done by a thug, but hopefully most of us go to a football match knowing that the 'thugs' who use them as an excuse for their games, normally can tell the difference between law-abiding fans and their own kind.

How old are you btw?

Am I the only one who thinks the link established between this incident and football fans in general is a very tenuous one? :102: So why is it the media, the fuzz, the courts and politicians in general are so insistent on creating that link? :102:

Tenuous? Hardly a coincidence that people from Cov and Leicester meet up for a scrap on the very same day as Cov and Leicester play a football match.

But to most it will just make football look bad,as we know they went their for one thing and it was not to watch city play cov scum.

But football gets the blame everytime for some dim wits wanting to kick the carp out of someone else .

Send the ***** to iraq or anywhere like that .

If it wasn't for football, it wouldn't have happened.

They were Leicester City Fans and Coventry Fans fighting in the streets before they attended the match on the same day.

This is a football issue, it's nonsense to think otherwise.
