Re: Nice One FT

I believe you though. I honestly think that this one time you are right...

It is just around the corner...:icon_eek:

Re: Nice One FT

this takeover has actually made this place boring at times.

I have posted a similar comment on here directly to the FT, but they would be better communicating through their website and mails to their membership.

meticulously asking questions that were meticulously left unanswered...

Some of our questions were answered, additional information not covered in any document on MM's plans was obtained during the meeting we attended on Wednesday night, leaving a few points left to discuss further with MM post takeover (assuming the target % is achieved, which we are still not sure about as yet).

They had a representative at a confidential meeting, then posted minutes on their website. It was retracted. That's all I can say.

That is incorrect, we made reference to a meeting that took place (a sub committee of the Fans Consultative Committee).

If minutes had been issued by the club we would have posted them on our website (as is the agreement for all FCC meetings, which the club should also post on it's own website).

No minutes were issued, but we made a minor reference to elements being considered by the meeting as part of an article relating to the potential consequences of the takeover, that was it. The reference was not removed from our website.

With the takeover completed that will be our plan.

However through this process there have been numerous "Question for the FT", "Why have the FT dis-appeared" and "Perhaps the FT can ...." posts across the message boards.

We have tried to be responsive despite the need to follow the takeover panel rules from mid Nov and also bearing in mind we have full time jobs and have given many further hours to meetings/dialogue with the club, Supporters Direct, compiling e-mail survery results, responding to e-mails received (not always possible, so apologies if no reply was received) etc.

Thanks FT. I am glad you did not take the Bill Anderson - Get MM in, no need to ask questions or read the small print - approach.

Whilst it may transpire that MM has been aware that is was 'MM or bust' and has played that to his advantage, he will also now be aware that the fans have high expectations of him, both on and off the field in the way he looks after our club.

Re: Nice One FT

The FT are a bunch of self obsessed wankers, fact.

Well said. Any organisation in a position of power becomes more concerned with consolidating their own position than anything else. They realised they couldnt hold any credibility if they continued to go against the popular opinion of supporters, or they realised they couldnt stop the bid and would just look like a joke if they continued to try and block it, so they caved in. Bandwaggon-jumping bastards.

Yes I defiantly have to agree with you.
You guys are my life line as to what is going on with my old club now that I am living overseas.
Well done FT one more nail hammered in.
Let’s hope closure for sure and all can get back to discussing the real issues.
Good luck all

They have been a more reliable source of information than some of the "insiders" who kept giving us crap info about the deal being done.

Thats your opinion, Jeff.....and you are rightly entitled to it.

A bit harsh on those "insiders" you refer to, because after all, they are only passing on info from the same sources that the FT use - it's just a case of how maniupulated the 'insiders' or the FT choose to be when relating such info..........

Here, Here Bob, your information has been much appreciated as have all others who have passed on bits and bats that they have heard.

That's not how I heard it.

Trust Backs Mandaric Bid Written by Foxes Trust Board Sunday, 11 February 2007 Following recent confirmation from the Foxes Trust Board that they had received the relevant paperwork from Leicester City FC regarding the Milan Mandaric takeover bid, the Trust Board has today released the following statement.

The Foxes Trust Board has today signed and submitted to the Leicester City FC Board the irrevocable undertaking documentation to sell its shares to UK Football Investments, LLC (the organisation created by Milan Mandaric to own LCFC).

Trust Board Member Matt Davis commented "Until now the Trust has always stated we were neither for nor against the takeover by Milan Mandaric & wanted to view the final bid detail before making any commitment. At the same time we also wanted to make sure all other options had been fully considered, just as we did when there were rival consortiums seeking to take the club out of administration a few years ago”

"The loss of parachute payments & falling attendances will, inevitably, mean the club urgently needs additional investment to be competitive in the Championship or risk losing our proud record of never being below 2nd tier football."

Chairman Ian Bason stated “We have now concluded the Milan Mandaric bid offers the best short & medium term option for Leicester City Football Club to play competitive football at the highest possible level, in particular his years of experience of running a number of clubs is not matched by the board which has ran the club in recent years”

“In our view the deal proposed by Mandaric is currently the only viable option for taking Leicester City Club forward. Ideally we would have liked to have had assurances on the issues we raised directly with Mandaric's representatives prior to the EGM in November before giving our support. However securing the deal is now of the utmost priority & urge all connected with the club and Mandaric’s representatives (even if the required % of shareholders support is not achieved initially) to ensure this prevails. Following the conclusion of the takeover we will then will be seeking to work closely with Mandaric to resolve the longer term issues we have raised.”

Did you not read the whole sentence?

I said "They have been a more reliable source of information than some of the "insiders" who kept giving us crap info about the deal being done."

In particular I'm talking about those people who back in December and January told us the deal was done, just a question of getting it signed off, and the people who told us shareholders had received the final bid documents long before it actually happened.

Of course it's good to have people who are able to give genuine inside information - that's why I used the word 'some' in my original post, but too much of the alleged inside info we've received has either been misinterpreted by the person passing it on, misleading, or just plain wrong.
