Injury News General Injury Updates

I know this sounds mad, but I wouldn't bring any of the long-term injured back and ask they to play a lot of games, we should be targeting getting everyone back for next season not only 'injury free' but fit.

Fair enough on the long term injured but part of JJs length absence could have been due to us wanting to give him longer to recover rather than rushing him back, and the same with Fofana too.

Fitness wise for the rest of the squad we should have no excuses now.

We've got 2 weeks before our next game and when that does come, we would have played just 3 matches in the 39 days prior.

With that amount of a break we should be up there with the fittest teams but we'll still be towards the bottom of the tables for distances covered and sprints per game.

I had already forgotten he plays for us:

Any chance that op is to give him bionic legs that can be controlled by someone on the sidelines to make him a worthwhile footballer?

I'd give Kolo the remote, personally.

Encouraging movement- but he needs to work on his defending - he left all 5 sticks standing and failed to clear the ball upfield ( or sideways to Evans- Soyuncu - Choudhury - Evans - repeat)

In all fairness his training must be tough. Those sticks have far more movement than he's used to when he trains with Soyuncu, Vestergaard, Evans and Bertrand.

Found this on an Arsenal website. How times have changed.

“Leicester winning the Premier League title. The club gained widespread plaudits and respect for their on field performances. However what wasn’t so well known was the remarkable work of their medical department. They outshone the rest of the league when it came to time and games lost due to injury. They kept the same starting line up almost entirely fit for most of the season and reaped the rewards.

Leicester City suffered 19 injuries in the 2015/16 season totalling to 275 days of players missing due to injury. Contrast this with second placed Tottenham who suffered 45 injuries and 1073 days lost to injury. These stats blow the mind. You can literally attribute Leicester’s title to squad and injury management. Ranieri had a light squad that year, but a combination of less matches, good medical principles and fatigue management brought his top side onto the pitch more than any other.”
