BREAKING NEWS: ARGYLE REJECT NORRIS TRANSFER REQUEST

Plymouth Argyle have rejected a written transfer request from midfielder David Norris.

Ipswich Town have made two offers in writing for the 26-year-old, with the latest being for £1.75 million, and are very keen to complete his signing soon.

Leicester City's former Pilgrims' boss Ian Holloway also has a strong interest in Norris but has yet to make a bid.

One reliable source has told Herald Sport that Norris put in his transfer request on Friday, 24 hours before he played in Argyle's 1-1 draw against Southampton at Home Park.

Norris was told verbally yesterday it had been rejected, and that was put in writing today.

The 26-year-old is said to be 'very disappointed' that his transfer request has not been accepted by Argyle's board of directors.

It remains unclear what the next steps will be in the ongoing saga.

But with the transfer window set to shut on January 31 there are sure to be plenty of talks going on behind-the-scenes over the coming days.

Norris was not with the rest of the Pilgrims' squad when they visited HMS Albion at Devonport Dockyard yesterday.
