I hear that poor Ted shot himself after a bout of continuing depression...

Leicester manager Ian Holloway has been told he must pay £2m if he is to sign David Norris from former club Plymouth. (Daily Star)

Good price that we can afford i think we should pay up and get the quality in

I just have to ask myself, is he (in terms of up-front payment) 4 times as good as Oakley. I personally don't think he is.

I doubt if many of us have the faintest idea how good he actually is. How many times have people actually seen him play? Why aren't prem clubs beating a path to his door at that price?

In a way prices are irrelevant to a players skill in January, Derby didn't want anymore than 500K, Plymouth want to bleed us for 2M, the players may just be as good as each other. It's just whether we want to pay it.

If it wasn't for the 50% sell on clause Bolton have, we wouldn't get him for less that £2m.

Two million squid for someone who apparently only interests ourselves and Ipswich ?

Bit daft, if you ask me - but what the feck do I know

Is he here yet ?

Great point Homer, are we really that desperate for him now, I think Plymouth are playing hard ball and that the longer this goes on they will be forced to drop their price to something that more adequately reflects his ability.

Too be honest I can see us waiting until the end of the season, but Plymouth would be very brave to hang onto a disillusioned player especially when his proce could plummet in that period. IMO he is at his optimum selling price, which will force Plymouth into selling him in this transfer window, all they are doing is trying to secure the best possible bargining position and price.

absolutely spot on OG! did anyone notice Norris pre-Ollie? anyone remember him from recent matches against Argyle? I've seen us home and away against them in recent years and can't recall him standing out...maybe he didn't play..

I think we've got caught up in the collective agent hype and bored press talk...fuelled by the increasingly disilussioned Plymouth fans and shouldn't even contemplate paying over the odds for a player big Sam at Bolton was willing to let go for £25,000...half what he paid for him (albeit with a sell on clause)....

£2m for a Championship player that even the Argyle fans have suggested is having an indifferent season....no f**kin' way!

oh yea....he's that good that he hasn't been capped for Ireland....not once....

maybe we should consider who else is available for that sort of money before refuelling the Norris bandwagon....

A mate of mine has been going on about him for ages now which has made me look at him a bit closer and although he can be a very good player i dont think he is worth £2m i agree with babylon if it wasnt for his sell on clause i think we would get him for closer to £1m which IMO is nearer the mark

We'll probably end up signing him for an "undisclosed fee", and never really know how much it is.

But I think it will be less than £2m if we do get him. He wants to leave, they've just signed/are signing a new attacking mid anyway... I think they know he's on the way.

Looks like Holloway must think he's pretty good and I trust his opinion more than anyone that posts on here.
