Durham Fox

El Dude Brother.
I assume he is a due a recall on Saturday after not making the reserve game tonight?? Sheehan played so looks like he is behind Gilbert in the left back merry go round currently. No first teamers featured at all tonight.

Will no doubt be given the opportunity to skipper the side in what is also becoming a merry go around. I cannot believe as a football club in the 2nd tier of English football after 19 games we still have no real recognised left back nor a regular captain, resembles the organisation of a pub team.

Re: Gilbert

TBH picking Tiatto and Dublin as captain and vice-captain is probably questionable in the first place. Although Danny has the work ethic to lead by example and Dion has the respect, both are likely to only play half the games of the season through suspension and fatigue.
But either way, don't pick Kisnorbo FFS.

Whereas for the left back spot, Nissa is never gonna be comfortable there as he lacks the pace and crossing ability for a full back, and I think CL intended to sign Nissa to be a center back. Just turned out that Gilbert had a few poor games and the fans got on his back, so CL dropped Gilbert. Hopefully CL will now draft a natural LB back in and link up with Smith who looked really dangerous last night and was probably our only threat.

Re: Gilbert

We had a decent enough left back, sure he wasn't wonderful going forward and he made a few mistakes. That was no doubt why he is playing in the Championship and not the Premier but nonetheless he was OK and formed part of a back four 'Unit' that conceeded one goal in 4 matches. His name ? Nils Eric 'The Scapegoat' Johannsson.

But we didn't conceed many DF...take him out and we conceed 2,its not Rocket Science.I think its about having a 'Unit' and the four of them must have been getting some sort of understanding going. There are much worser players in a City shirt than Nils IMO.

bit of a mistake there meant to say wasn't........

Re: Gilbert

No I agree. It was clear to see Nissa was no full back but if it ain't broke and all that... and if you must, at least fix it with the right part not some feckin sellotape and a ball of string.

Re: Gilbert

Should've kept Jordan... Sure, wasn't wonderful, but I think he was better than most other options we have at LB now..... and I'm sure we paid more for Gilbert than we sold Jordan for (although admittedly Stewart would've been on higher wages)

Re: Gilbert

i hope Peter Gilbert gets his chance to prove he can do a job for us at LB. good luck to him if he is brought into the side, although is sheff utd the team to do it against? Joey or McCarthy for captain imo.

I would have to disagree - Jordan's crossing and corners were laughably awful.

No, because we'll then see that old favourite under-pressure-management technique called "I bought the player into the side, we lost, therefore it's his fault" and we'll never see Gilbert again.

Gone Sheff Wed on loan with a view to a perm deal.

Good buy Craig!

What a waste of time for the Club and the player. MA type transfer dealing. This does nothing to make believe any more in CL. :icon_roll :frown: ;) :icon_evil :icon_evil

You all thought he was shite anyway so what are you moaning about ? This Country........:icon_bigg :icon_wink

Never had a chance to really see him. I honestly do not know what to say now, he's obviously not going to play johansson again, doubt he'll give Sheehan a chance, so that leaves Maybury or Sterman, both out of position

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

Even if it was thought that he was shite we paid about £250,000 for him!!!! Plymouth are laughing! Add £750,000 for Hume and that is a grand total of £1,000,000 Levein has spent on players that we don't play!

SHOCKING!:icon_eek:

I have a theory that he is trying to free up some funds to bring in Roberto Carlos!:icon_cry:
