Agreed. I'm sure Kelly will have noticed Gradel's performances. I hope he gives him a chance.....but only when survival is guaranteed.

Gradel and Chambers are behind O'Grady in the pecking order. I would like to see him given a chance before these 2. Send them out on loan.

well seeing as Gradel plays in a different position to chambers and o'grady i would of thoght he would of been in a different 'pecking order'. and the fact the the player playing in the position he would play is one of our big weaknesses just adds even more weight to gradels push for a place.
and seeing as the loan deadline has now passed he may as well get a chance, especially when he is playing probably the best football of his career at the moment i would much rather see a place given to Gradel on the bench on saturday, i have never seen him play but would put quite a lot of vCash on that he would provide a lot more than Momo Sylla if he were to come on with 20 or so minutes to go, he has something to prove, Momo has already proven to us that he is a waste of space and should not be a given a nother chance.

I love the fact that you are so passionate and confident about a player you have never even see play before! :icon_eek: :icon_roll

I have seen him play, last year - sub. for last 10mins. can't remember game, was very fast & tricky - you just wait & see !

thats what im not, my point is that he is in amazing form, was in talks with premiership clubs but chose us, apparantly chelsea even had a look, and would fit into a position that has been a weakness since kelly took over. All of these factors indicate to me that the lad is abviously pretty good and given the fact the only other natural right winger we have is momo sylla it seems the perfect time to stick him on the bench and give him 20 or so minutes whatever the score, if we are losing he could come on and change it as he is attack minded and if we are winning then he could come into a team playing well, thus increasing hs chances of having a good game, i just feel we have nothing to lose by putting him on the bench that is all, im not saying give him a start cus he could be very average as reserve and youth team football is very different to senior, you need to be a lot more physical.

I have seen him play on many ocassions and stand by my original comment.

So you think he is physically cut out for Championship football currently do you??

We wont know until he's given a try.

I agree with Matt give Gradel 15/20 minutes against Millwall unless there are problems elsewhere in the team on the day

Yeah give the kid a game in one of the most important matches of the season! In fact put the whole youth team in well as they are on such a good run! :icon_wink

Beggars belief at times, this place.

The side is young enough and inexperienced enough as it is, without chucking a kid in who at best has played 15 reserve team games for us.

It would be good to give these players a few minutes in the first team, when the team is playing confidently and there is no pressure on, i.e. not against Millwall on Saturday.

Sounds like F*xestalk kiddies have sneaked out of their prams onto our site.

Our senior squad is now a 'youth team' with the exception of Brevitt and Douglas and Tiatto.

Why do some people want to toss our kids into a war zone! Sensibly, O'Grady went to Rushden to get 'roughed up a bit', (RK's words), before coming back and making an impact.

I think it is much more important for the current squad to push us as far up the table as possible to send the message out to get the 'fickle, only watch when were winning' fans back through the gates next season.

Even in this division, if we are winning and playing well we should be pushing gates of nearly 30 000 with around 20 000 ST holders.

You don't have to be that offensive about it. :)

This was why I only suggested giving them a few minutes once we were safe, to give them some extra encouragement.

Key task for RK next season (assuming he's the manager) is to get in a couple of experienced players to help move these youngsters onto the next level. Could be on the brink of exciting times - fingers crossed...

no its more like you lot cannot take people opinions if they are younger than you cus you have been supporting city for longer in terms of years, i have been supporting them all my life, if i could of done in a previous life i would of.

BTW this is not personally at you Mike, all the people that reference Foxestalk and people under the age of 25.

Also im not saying fookin start him, put him on the bench as he must surely offer something more than Momo 'how do you run' Sylla, if its not working bring on the lad no one nos about to change it. It could work and we could find our next big player or he may be way of the pace and need more first team football at a lower level before he is good enough to play at this level, at least we will find this out this season instead of 6 moths into next season.
dont get me wrong i think Maybury should start against millwall but it would be better to bring Gradel on ahead of Sylla, cus after everytime Sylla plays, theres a thread on here about how he should never wear a leicester shirt again.

my point is that he must be no worse than what we are already moaning about.
