I feel a little sorry for Iborra. I have no doubt he is better than our current midfield options, because let's face it if for no other reason he has to be. But he is only one player and no matter how well he settles in he won't solve all our ills by a long stretch.

Lets be clear here. None of us "negative" types are remotely interested in being able to say "I told you so" At least I'm not. I imagine BN isn't either. What we are is angry at the ineptitude that's been shown since the dust settled on probably the greatest achievement in modern football.

What other club could go from champions of England to taking a hopeful punt on an untried manager in less time then it takes for a cheese sarny to go off?

What other club could reward the man who masterminded the transfer policy that saw us sign vital players for a pittance with "well thanks but cheerio" ?

We love our club. Passionately. In my case for well over 40 years, most of it suffering dismal underachievement. We all had the season of our lives...& now we get to watch it all vanish to such an extent that in 3 years it won't even seem like it happened at all? Bollocks!

We could...& SHOULD have taken the vast rewards of the title win & CL season & turned ourselves into the regularly-challenging-for-Europe team we really should always have been.

Instead we end up back amongst the no-marks. Reverting to type.

It's got **** all to do with being negative & **** all to do with wanting to say "see...told you"

It's not negative to piont out failings. It's negative to ignore them ,cross your fingers & hope things work out.

CS will fail. Not because I say so. Because he's 53 years old & never been a manager. Never shown any desire to be one. Doesn't have a clue what to do.

He has no tactical skill beyond his first choice arrangements, can't change a game effectively from the bench, can't be adventurous when needed. Plus the players know they can get away with any old shit while he's in charge.

Basically he's a supply teacher.

But he got offered the full time post, presumably for a very nice pay increase & he took it. Fair enough...so would I!

He'll leave here & get a coaching job at somewhere like Ipswich or Hull.

I just hope it's sooner rather than later so we might have a chance of repairing the damage. Although I'm not hopeful of that either as the list of replacements will likely be ****ing terrible. Which is another symptom of the ludicruous way the club has handled things.

Fantastic post. Summed the situation up perfectly.

When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother, what will I be?
Will I be pretty? Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me....

Our major problem is in midfield. We could go to 5 across there but we havent got the personnel. This is the fault of the club, not the manager.

In the interests of fair judgement however, it's fair to say that the changes made today were either too late or unfathomable. Albrighton should have been swapped at HT for Iborra with Okazaki coming on for Ndidi. We could then have gone 4-3-3. The defence were bypassing midfield constantly throughout the match so it'd have been better to have runners up front with Okazaki coming deeper to help out midfield when necessary.

Still, like I say, many teams will leave Huddersfield with nothing this season. They are a strong outfit with some fantastic talent, none more so than Mooy who was brilliant throughout. CS has a raw deal with the squad he has inherited and with the pricks who can't fire off a fax in time but there are things he could have done better with them today.

A point away in the Premier League when we're not at our best - in fact, when we are very poor..

A midfielder signed and royally cocked up by the recruitment team leaving our options limited in the middle..

Let's get perspective please people. Let's give CS a chance this season before the knives come out.

"CS will fail because he's 53 and never been a manager... "

Well if that's your argument against him, no point continuing....

What a surprise BN likes your post.

Just as a matter of interest. I'm not trying to argue it's just a genuine question; do you think CS will succeed? And if yes, what do you base that on?

This is open to others too.

I've no idea. There's not enough evidence to convince me either way yet. I have seen some things I like since he took charge and some that I don't.

My question in response would be, do you think if Mancini or some other name had got the job, saved us from a possible relegation with an eventual 12th place finish and had got the results this season that CS has, would as many people be as vehemently against his continuing in role as they are with CS?

I'm prepared to give the guy a chance he hasn't been afforded properly yet.

My argument against him is contained in the rest of the post, rather than in that one line quoted out of context. As you presumably well know.

You should work for a tabloid.

Albrighton for a start.

can people stop making excuses for the manager picking the same tactics that aren't working game after game
You'd have dropped Albrighton? Why? he's been playing pretty well so far this season. He was crap today but unless there is a time machine available, that's not helpful.

Subs weren't great but the team selection wasn't an issue.

When we won, yes won the league, I was asked beforehand, can we win the league. Yes was my reply, will we though is a different matter.
Similarly, I want Shakey to succeed, will he? Only time will tell.
Our climb to the top was meteoric, we weren't ready for it.
We still need to become an established Premier league team. That takes time.
How many teams haven't been relegated from the premier league?
Look what happened to the last team that won the Premier league outside the norm, Blackburn.
The year before football started (!) Leeds won the top division. Look where they've been since.

he's been subbed at HT 2 games running for being poor, thats why

Harry Redknap has just been sacked. Obviously a mastermind of football knowledge, some will be calling for him to takeover from Shakey.

Brum are run by a bunch of shitheads. Thay had a perfectly OK manager in Rowett. Dumped him for a big name, which turned out to be a disaster & were then stupid enough to hire that never-have-been old crook. 'Arry won't mind though. I think he signed 13 or so players during the window so will have pocketed a few bob. Result.

Yes I do. I don't think the criticism of Shakespeare (for want of a better phrase) has anything to do with him not being a 'big name'.
