My post was meant as a mildly ironic comment along the lines of its a pity that the board does not have adequate resources to plough into the development of the playing staff.

I do understand that this is a position shared with the vast majority of clubs, but nonetheless we can hope that someone or some group will one day come along with the resources that would make a real difference.

I would love to know what the board are trying to do to get extra investment from non-commercial sources. ;)

seems I may be wrong on billy davies :icon_eek: or he changed his mind. But another romour I heard is that he will be of to Leeds anyway if he leaves.

Now here's a rumour to frighten you all... Someone on foxfanzine (a regular poster, so probably not a troll but still might be on a wind up) says that Tim is quite fond of the idea of getting Micky back if Levein leaves. Think of that for a minute :089: :icon_mad: :088:

I'm a believer in Craig still, I think he's done a major job in a short space of time, but if it doesn't work out for him here, -apparently he's got a bit of a complex private life- then there is a good chance that Mickey would be back..

Tim likes the idea...

Just stirring as I think it would mean the end of DF's chum, ;) :icon_lol: , if he were to do that. :icon_eek: ;)

I dont think it is beyond the realms of possibility, I really believe had MA not left of his own accord then he would still be manager now. I think in the eyes of the board he had done a fantastic job in gaining promotion to the premiership despite administration, the way he conducted himself throughout the La Manga situation had won him a lot of respect and admiration within the board and IMO they would have stood by and supported MA for as long as he wanted to stay.

So I am not surprised this rumour has come out. If all MA needed was a break to refresh his zest for the club, then so be it, although I would hate to see a return to the hoof or the Dads Army brigrade, the guy did have more to contend with than most managers and on the whole when he left, he could leave with his head held high.

My biggest concern with this rumour coming out, is more the fact that these are still circulating and also it sounds as though it is CL who is the one with itchy feet. It doesnt seem to be going away and you have to start thinking no smoke without fire. It seems to me that CL may well walk away for personal reasons.

Also isnt Micky on a 12 month contract or a rolling deal, so he may well be cheap.

I sincerely hope it is isnt true, but this guy is a regular poster on rivals and isnt renowned for posting bullsh1t rumours.

That phrase is used on any number of occasions to put two and two together and come up with ninety seven. ;)

The thought of Micky coming back makes me want Levein to stay even more! Can you imagine the changes that would be made? Apart from Stearman (maybe) I doubt we'd see any more of the younger players, he'd probably use whatever money we had to bring in some 'experience' on loan, Dublin would go back in up front and it would always be long ball... I would seriously question the board if they even considered bringing him back if Levein left.

Stay Craig please!

Gary MacAllister being lined up for Leicester manager with Gerry Taggart as assistant. Over heard Taggs talking about it in the boozer.

The only thing I believe about this is that Taggs was in a pub. ;) :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :023:

It would be a fairly obvious move by anyone wanting to secure the position of CL and being aware of the less than impressive intelligence of many football supporters........to start this absurd rumour.

I don't believe any of that ....... not even that he did a fantastic job in gaining promotion. The reality is that one of the odd features of the Adam's promotion season was that we were able to hang on to our better players....mainly because they had excessively generous contracts on a falling market. The team that won promotion was mainly the remnants from previous regimes plus the goalscoring potential of Dickov/ Deane. The longer MA imposed his own players/ methods the worse it got.

Surely a good reason to hire MA as nearly all his players have left. ;)

Please note the use of the words "IMO THE BOARD believed Adams had done a fantastic job".

My post as regards Adams was what I percieved to be the board's attitude and feeling towards MA, I felt at the time it was right for Micky to leave he had stagnated and had lost his spark and drive. If, and hopefully it will not happen, CL does decide to leave the club, then I think it would be the wrong move in bringing back Micky.

I understood PFKAKTF that you were making the point about what you considered to be the Board's opinion -rather than yout own.

To be honest, I can't believe even that. I would have thought that Micky has been plying his trade long enough for everyone to appreciate his strengths and weaknesses ....... he is a likeable lower division manager with a good personality but without the tactical awareness to make a top manager.

I know that we have fallen down the ladder somewhat but I would have thought the Board could do much better and although they do not have the financial wherewithall to move the club forward, I would like to think they have better judgement than to consider Micky as a future manager.

Isn't the position - that even those like me who serously doubt that CL is going to produce the goods, still want to stick with him and hope for the best?

at the end of the day adams went as far as he could with the club and will probably leave cov before CL leaves city.

Or put another way, Micky had been well & truly sussed.

Yes, obviously he's taken on a new job with all the potential for getting himself sacked. I think he would be better off with a League 1 or 2 outfit where he has the strengths to get them promotion.
