if the personal terms had been bettered by Boro he would have gone. He was never offered better money, but the same money but paid differently.

lets face it, people will say that it would of been better for muzzy to leave us for financial reasons when we got relegated, but we would never of been able to replace him with a player anywhere near his quality and therefore most likely not got promotion the following season which would of then lead to the board getting a load of abuse for selling our best player and thinking about running a business instead of a football club, they will get abuse for whatever they do.

More to the point, at the time of administration, the only reason some of our creditors were not more ruthless and accepted the rescheduling of our debts in the way that they did (i.e. letting us defer a lot of them) was because we had a strong chance of returning to the Premiership and getting the money associated with it - without Muzzy that chance would have been substantially diminished and a lot of the creditors may well have taken a harder line. There is no way it would have been in the clubs best interests for him to leave.
