Yes, we paid him a good wage, but we didn't pay a big fee for him, and I think he deserves to be recognised as one of our better players over the last few years - whether he cared or not is maybe subject to question, but he put in 100% effort, and that can't be said for everyone (no names, no packdrill, no GW)
Good luck to the guy IMHO: footballers are horredously overpaid, but at least Dickov tries to earn earn his money

to be far to him and to play devils advocate a little, he is now at a different satge in his career now to when he left mc in the first place to join us. He wasnt playing at all for them and felt he needed first team football, which is something we offered. He did well for us and scored a few. With lcfc, a bigger club will always come in to poach our best performing players as we are and nearly always have been a selling club.Doug said:What I find annoying from many players is their cyncial short-term memory. When Dickov joined us from Man City I seem to recall him saying how he badly needed to move clubs because he was not getting a chance at MC and things had gone worng there for him. And when he started a few games for us and scored a goal or 2, how wonderful it was that he was playing again and being valued.
Now it seems, judging from his statements, that he really did not want to leave MC in the 1st place.
Inconsistent litle twerp.
DesertFox said:I've got nothing against him at all. He did a VERY good job for us, and like every other professional footballer, he moved on for the benefit of his career. Nothing to get bitter or twisted about IMO, it's just the way it is and, to a certain degree, how it's always been. People will say "ah, but what about Muzzy and Walshie" but if they'd have had the chance, they'd have done the exact same thing. Of course, they'd have also said the same things before leaving (what if the deal doesn't go through? Can't say you're looking forward to fooking off, can you?) and a lot of City fans would then hate them for leaving. C'est la vie, get over it.
If we had him now, he'd be one of, if not the only GENUINE Premier class player in our squad (one or two of the current crop may make it in time, but they ain't there yet). I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
