Dickov is history. A player who will be well forgotten even in the near future. Time to move on for more important things.

We gave him a chance, he then he fcuked us off when we needed him. He gave the impression that he loved the fans and the club but fcuked off at the first sniff of dollar 4 months after helping to make a mockery of our football club.

He came, he did a good job, he went.
Fox Fan said:Well what about that pen he missed against Man City? That was the worst thing for me. If he had scored that...well thats history, but Dickov put the club through a lot of trouble with the La Manga thing and ultimatly should have had enough respect to commit to us for another 2 years or so. I don't think that trousers down rumor is true, even our board wouldn't be so stupid as to get rid of the top scorer (who was still in contract)
Redditch Fox said:Yes, but if you provide your best (and most highly paid, of course) players with what were effectively incentives to leave in the event of relegation...what do you expect?

I know that post was irony but you are correct.Dunc said:I don't think it was soley down to him. I suppose Muzzy did a crap job too as he was in a relegation team twice.
And Matt Elliott for that matter, and Gerry.

Muzzy didn't seem interested that season and appeared lazy at times. Dickov ran around like a blue arsed fly looking busy, while Sir Les put in the work, Eliiot was injured for spells and wasn't at his best when he played and Gerry was shipped out during that season and when he was available wasn't consistently selected
So, although ironic, spot on.
I have nothing against Dickov leavig the club. I understand why he did it. In his situation I would have probably doe the same thing.PFKAKTF FOX said:The truth is that this is the way with modern football and footballers, it saddens me to say it, but along the way there is likely to be many more Paul Dickov's than Steve Walsh's.
We have to be realistic and realise that many of the players are out for number one and if the opportunity to better themselves comes along they will not need to think twice.

IMO when somebody plays through an injury "for their club" they are either doing it under instruction from the club or are trying to qalify for hero status.Dunc said:If you say so.
I was more talking about their City careers than an individual season. In that respect they all did a good job IMO. Sum rather than parts.
All of the above 'did a job' for us regardless of whether they were injured for parts of a doomed season (which I thought would be classed as not their fault).
Incidentally, FYI, Muzzy played on through that season when he was injured and should have had an op, as a consequence he's hardly played since and is contemplating retirement.
If thats not interested and lazy then you have exceptionally high standards.
