Good to see Nige hasn't made a panic buy, there are still areas which we could improve on but we have a healthy sized squad with everyone fit. Its just a case of NP getting them to consistently perform, which will hopefully be aided by no first teamers leaving. And lets not forget that the loan window reopens in a week or two after tonight.

I agree wholeheartedly. It is nice to see a manager that is not getting caught up in all the hysteria and making rash signings. Focus on the most important thing, the next game. I really hope that we can become more difficult to beat. We need to have a stronger mentality and be more ruthless in defence. I think the no nonsense Gerry Taggart method should be adopted. We also need the young guns to flourish in attack. I am hoping that Marshall, Drinkwater, Knockaert and Vardy can start to light up the league and score some goals.

Looks like Forest have signed Billy Sharp. Quite envious of the squad they're building.

Signing proven players at this level seems like a fantastic idea, Why have we not thought of it?

Like Maynard, he's had a very inconsistent career and could go either way, but I wouldn't have minded him here.

His record (bar an injury ravaged time at Sheff Utd) says he scores a goal every other game. Seems pretty consistent to me.

Goals in brackets.

2005–2007 Scunthorpe United 82 (53)
2007–2010 Sheffield United 51 (8)
2009–2010 Doncaster Rovers (loan) 33 (15)
2010–2012 Doncaster Rovers 49 (25)
2012– Southampton 15 (9)

Beckford arrived at the last minute last year.

Often things go through late because there's a chain of transfers ready to happen, but they need one thing to set them off and that has a domino effect .

Like buying a house

That Jermaine Beckford has scored 98 in 221 games. shame we can't sign him

Fair enough, I just remembered his time at Sheff Utd.

Just saw that Spurs are going to nick Clint Dempsey from under the noses of Liverpool and the Liverpool fans are fuming after having let Carroll go

I assume NP will snap up some loan signings after the window has shut. It's a shame spearing has already been snapped up..and that Hume bloke..
