Got a very ITK mate who's a liverpool fan and he reckons the lads brilliant, he's spoke to me about him in the past as well.

Im pleased with this signing, at least we have enough cover at the back, apart from the left which is fairly worrying tbh.

Wouldn't say he was brilliant but he's ok.Liverpool have Carragher,Agger,Skirtel and Hyppia so he was never going to get a game there..unless of course he ousted Gerrard from his midfield slot

Yep, we'll barely miss a left-back at all.

Obviously we need to make that a priority but if we were to come up with the idea of getting a left back in I dont think that would be to bad.

Gilbert on the right, and Chambers at left back

And five feckin' centre halves sat on the bench

Relegation fodder, if you ask me

And if Henderson gets injured who do we call on ? Fatty Logan

Leaving it a bit late though aren't we,surely a Left Back should have been the first player we got in.Ok Mattock might start off the season with us but he won't be around long.I don't go with playing Chambers Left Back at all,he's right Footed

Everything looks wrong to me, wrong mix, wrong balance etc

I think it looks better than it did at the start of last season(though maybe that not difficult)

The 2 positions that worry me are

1. Are any of our strikers going to score enough goals to get us up near the top?

2. Left back, even if mattock stays, he gets undone by the diagonal ball and there will be a lot of that in league 1.

Other than that i think the squad looks decent.

5 centre backs(not including youth team and injured kisnorbo)

2 senior right backs

4 "senior" centre midfielders (not including king who is decent back up also)

2 wide players for each position.

Theres an argument that says we did OK last season apart from scoring goals. I see no improvement in that pretty fundamental area.

Last season - McAulay and Kisnorbo
This season - 2 from a bunch of inexperienced centre halves with a handful of league games between them plus Ngotty.

Last Season - Fulop
This season - Henderson

Last seaon - Stearman
This season - inexperienced loanee

I know which I would go with.

I believe they went up to 64,it was hardly an acheivement:102:
Well maybe we have differing levels of achievement, but I'd consider somebody with a squad number at Anfield, as having achieved something in their life.

Haven't we lost a Leading Scorer for the past two seasons and replaced him with Who exactly? Ok Howard might do ok given the service but i can't see any of the others reaching double figures

Quite. Like him or loathe him, Hume has gone so where are the goals coming from to replace his contribution?

He had a Squad Number last year,he came on as Sub in a few games.I'm not saying he's a bad player :102:

Our ability to score goals was deeply affected by a shit midfield and playing the wrong type of football for the strikers we had.

As far as i can see NP was in agreement and as a result has himself two dynamic, pacey wingers in to give the strikers the service they require to function properly.

That coupled with the ability of league 1 defenders is enough to make me think goals wont be a problem this season.

Also the left back possition was a problem we had all of last season and we still had one of the best defensive records in the league, i can't see why moving to league 1 would change that.

But he was crap and we have Barry Hayles and DJ 'I couldn't give a toss' Campbell (until he feigns another injury for a few months)
