Our ability to score goals was deeply affected by a shit midfield and playing the wrong type of football for the strikers we had.

As far as i can see NP was in agreement and as a result has himself two dynamic, pacey wingers in to give the strikers the service they require to function properly.

That coupled with the ability of league 1 defenders is enough to make me think goals wont be a problem this season.

Also the left back possition was a problem we had all of last season and we still had one of the best defensive records in the league, i can't see why moving to league 1 would change that.

It could be hampered by replacing Kisnorbo and McAulay with a bunch of kids though with no experience, right?

Are you mental?

We were talking about achievements, not his ability levels.

Why am I mental ? At least a hundred lads have had Squad numbers at Liverpool and gone on to achieve feck all in Football,I have met at least 5 of them.I'm not questioning his ability so wind your neck in:icon_roll

I don't really think the experience that McAuley brought with him was exactly priceless. In fact I'd go so far as to say it was nigh on useless.

I can't remember one instance where he was calm, composed and used his experience to boss the opposition forwards. Maybe I just didn't pay attention because I was too busy hiding from his passes.

I wouldn't call Tunchev a kid, and the younger lads we have brought in all have potential to be good players, especially in this league.

Plus theres Kisnorbo is still a city player untill anyone says any different.

I know that FFS, and that is why I have never said you are. Get a grip FFS.

You mentioned that getting a squad number at Anfield was "hardly an achievement", whereas I think it is.

That's all we were talking about.

Thats one thing we wont miss, having the defence with the worst distribution in the league. Neither Kisnorbo or McAulay could find one of their own players with a pass or punt up field.

Fair enoug, he was still instrumental i one of the meanest defences in the Championship last year. We will start the season with none of those largley involved in that.

Theres an argument that says we did OK last season apart from scoring goals. I see no improvement in that pretty fundamental area.

Last season - McAulay and Kisnorbo
This season - 2 from a bunch of inexperienced centre halves with a handful of league games between them plus Ngotty.

Last Season - Fulop
This season - Henderson

Last seaon - Stearman
This season - inexperienced loanee

I know which I would go with.

By having 3 midfilders who got 35 goals last season?

Gradel scored 11 in this league.

But agree the forwards themself haven't been improved.

As for the back 5(inc keeper).

The left back issue wasn't sorted last season either. was for 1 game and then we all know what happened to poor mr clark.

Can't argue that fulop is a different class too Henderson, but we are not going to get a keeper of that class in league one.

I guess i was thinking more about midfield when thinking about balance.

Thats nothing the club could change though, as far as i can tell they are doing they're best to patch the holes up created by relegation and injury.

I personally can't see any area we are better equiped this season than last.

Fair play to you. Personally I see it as a patch work of players with very little or on the whole zero exeprience of this league or above.

On the wing for sure, especially as thats how Howard needs to recieve most of his balls.

Plus it's dificult to improve a team when your in the 3rd tier of english footy.

Why do you have to get so angry all the time ? If someone doesn't agree with you then you resort to questioning their sanity.Have you ever gave it a moments thought that you just might be wrong ? I know that is hard to believe but it just might be the case.
Years ago getting a Squad number for Liverpool or any Club was an acheievementnowadays virtually anybody who has had a sniff of the first team is given a Squad Number.Jack Hobbs is an ok player whether he did or didn't get a Squad number does not alter that.
Can't be arsed disc ussing this anymore..I'm obviously mental

We always talk about getting players with experience of whatever league were in, it didn't work last season with clemence, oakley, howard, campbell, chambers etc. Plus i don't know about you but getting players who are used to league 1 doesn't seem like the best plan, they are not going to be good enough to get out of the league or they wouldn't be coming back into it to play for us.

Id rather try the talented premiership youngster approach personally.

It's not a case of disgreeing with me, you went off on a totally different discussion to the one were having.

I get angry at stupidity, I always have, and I suspect I always will.
