1 million! For a player who while being here has been injured longer than he's been fit. No thanks.

Drop it down to half that and he's definitely worth a gamble.

If you remember, the Everton fans came on to LCFC forums in droves saying Vaughan is a great player when fit, but is too injury prone to be a great servant to his club

Everything the fans who know him best said, has come true since his switch to the Foxes

Good players don't win you games when they are sat in the treatment room

To be fair it may be he was only injured once during his time here and it didnt keep him out that long-the second time seems to be more about the Wayne Brown incident

For a million, I think Vaughan is a bargain. be he mildly injury-prone or not

Mildly? He's in the same league as Ledley King and Darren Anderton.

We seem to have escaped relatively unscathed in the injury department this season and I am sure this is in no small part due to the scientific approach to training and fitness that the club is now using.

He's been out with 2 separate injuries, in the, what? 2 or 3 months he's been here.

Wasn't one a virus and the other a disappearance at the play off home semi?

You mention King...isn't he the best current English cb on form? 4 games in 15 days I believe.

He also had one as soon as he got here. Then another one half way through his spell, then a further one in the play-off semis (it was described as an injury at least).

Yes, but King is in form atm, but he has missed countless games. For a goalscorer coming in and out of the side is going to be a lot more harmful to your confidence and momentum than a defender.

juhreckon? Surely a settled defence is preferable?

Possibly, for the defensive unit, but for the player on his own, I mean. Goalscorers tend to get into patches and runs of scoring and if he can never get into one of those because of injuries, it will be odd appearances here an there, getting no momentum. Besides, if your other strikers taking over do well, then he won't get back in the side anyway.

King's managed 20+ games in all but one of the last nine seasons. I'd take that, thanks very much.

As people have said fitness may be an issue but if we could get him match fit and playing a consistent run of games I think that he could be a very good signing. He has everything we you need at Championship level, pace and a good eye for goal, I think he would be worth the gamble and is a striker we could do with next season.

Another thing is, I can't see our budget being as big as it was last summer, with the losses the club has had. £1million could well be most of our budget gone on one player.

I'm not sure he reminds me a bit of DJ campbell and look at how he turned out

Scoring a stunning hat-trick in the play off semi final to take his side to Wembley, and possibly promotion to the Premier League ?

The losses are less than they were last year? so why would that make the budget less than last summer?

Because we don't have as much money now? Not that hard to work out is it. :102:

"20+ games" could mean he played in every game. I would take that.

It could, but it doesn't. What it actually means is:

2001-2 42 games
2002-3 26 games
2003-4 35 games
2004-5 47 games
2005-6 27 games
2006-7 27 games
2007-8 10 games
2008-9 29 games
2009-10 21 games

Fewer than 30 games for each of the last five seasons? No ta. Not when the club aims to play 50-60 games a year.
