So what does the JPT hold for us?

So what does the JPT hold for us?
Some English clubs claim they lost money on the UEFA Cup last season, whilst others only made a four figure profit.
As far as I'm concerned I would't pay money to see any of our fixtures this season except the Leeds games - but I'm glad that there are others less cynical than me who will and do - and hopefully there will be a more meaningful fixture list from which I can select more interesting matches for next season.
... the JPT is a totally unnecessary kick around that only the extremely dedicated or desparately lonely or under-worked would want to watch.

I should think you are glad. Without the dedicated, lonely and underworked, there would be no Leicester City and you would have no chance of getting to future honeypot games.
Exactly Boc - I am very grateful to you and others who are dedicated and loyal enough to pay to watch such rubbish.
I am quite straight forward about this. I am also very hopeful that your support will help the team gain promotion and suspect that Pearson may well be the right person to lead that achievement.
I look forward to better times in 09/10.

So why be insulting and suggest that such people are lonely and underworked?
And I would suggest that what we have already seen this season has been far more entertainin than most of what we have seen in the past few years - with a better standard of refereeing to boot.
And I hope you can't get a ticket - you hardly deserve one.
I was attempting to be slightly ironic - sorry if I went OTT!
I agree that you are likely to enjoy seeing a hopefully winning side - long may it continue - but I wouldn't get carried away with the standard of refereeing because I suspect that it won't be too long before we are ranting about poor decisions.
On the tickets for next season if we gain promotion - I am not sure that the elasticity of demand will stretch to a total sell out depriving me of the opportunity to buy a ticket..
Is there really much value in qualifying for the UEFA Cup?
The reason they couldn't care less is... oh, the big four have won five out of the last eight finals, as mentioned above. So they obviously care enough to win it.
And ask the next ten teams in the Prem if they'd like to win a trophy and qualify for Europe...
The big teams often put out weakened sides in the earlier rounds, but I doubt many, if any, put out teams they don't genuinely think are capable of winning each tie.
To me it seems like the people who take it least seriosuly are the fans, and in particular the media, who are only really interested in Man Utd and the Champions League anyway.
Not surprised to hear that - the UEFA Cup is a competition which is quietly dying on its feet.
To be honest the Carling Cup is mainly about qualifying for a big money game at Wembley in a competition for largely reserve sides but the big 4 are glad to gobble up the Wembley final whilst anticipating qualifying for the real Euro competition by a different route; the JPT is a totally unnecessary kick around that only the extremely dedicated or desparately lonely or under-worked would want to watch.
There is far too much football and too much bad football and too much televised bad football - all three of the above competitions should be scrapped and let the clubs concentrate on proper league fixtures and the now severely devalued FA Cup (Thank you Fergie for preferring a money spinning foreign kick around and the rest of the big clubs for choosing weakened sides and showing their contempt) which should be retained for sentimental reasons.

Without being disrespectful I'd suggest that makes you not a fan of Leicester city football club. May I suggest you subscribe to sky and spend your days watching Manure or Arse.
hope thats ironic, if Redditch does live in Redditch still then I can see why not arsing to go to the game is justified
I couldn't take Fif's comment seriously - I suspect that there are many, many Leicester supporters who are not entranced by this season's fixtures - I just told it like it is for them.
As you imply, I'm fine about travelling to matches from here - but only if i think its an interesting fixture. I applaud those that will turn out to watch anything and as I've said hope for the best this season, but I don't think Third Division football is worth the effort. Purely a personal view.
stop moaning and get to the game :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:
