Give over - the Mercury would be full of it.

Look at the way we enjoyed Leeds getting knocked out last week. Do you want people to be laughing at our premature ejaculation from this competition?

OK, ok...I give in.

I'll leave you to bask in the reflected glory of a potential epic semi final victory over Morcombe followed by the Wembley cup final of the century...... against Dagenham & Redbridge or even Redbridge & Dagenham.

I do appreciate that in addition to the Mercury it will be avidly covered by Pathe News shown at every cinema in the land.

Redditch, do you think we should deliberately get knocked out to save on games?

I think if we were given the choice to enter the competition or to give it a miss at the start of the season we would have chose a few nights off.....I couldn't give a shit if we win it but will still attend for the crack, as I did at Pools anyway

I think we should play reserves/ academy players and rest all key players but still play to win.

We would be probably fined a few quid but it would be worth it.

There are 46 league games to be played and we need to get out of this division this season if at all possible - I don't see anything but risk in playing our better players in a meaningless minor cup competition - neither am i bothered about the FA Cup this year. That is just another distraction from the real objective.

Don't you ever get bored of saying the same thing over and over again?

I hope we win this trophy just like I hope we win every game we play.

I also get sick of saying the same things over and over.

If we do get to wembley ,are you coming along :102:

For the play offs - yes (although I'm hoping for automatic promotion)

If we reach the FA Cup Final - yes as I did in 1961,1963 and 1969 - but I'm not too confident that we shall make it this season.

For the JPT - No - I see it as a waste of time - but for others who think differently, I hope that they would have a nice day out.

If Kisnorbo plays, would he be deemed a 'first team regular'?

No. The regulation doesn't use the words ' first team regular'. It talks about fielding the majority of the players who have played the most first team games during the season.

I interpret that as meaning that if the game were to be played tomorrow, we would have to play at least 6 of the following:

Martin
Gilbert
Tunchev
Morrison
Hobbs
Powell
Gradel
Oakley
A King
Dyer
Howard
Fryatt

So both Mattock and Kisnorbo, albeit first team regulars when fit, would inhibit us from using a few other younger players too....?

Seems a tad odd.

Why is it a waste of time? Was playing in the Eufa cup a waste of time as we had nil chance of winning it? Is playing in the FA cup this season a waste of time as we have less than nil chance of winning it?

I will bet anything you want, that when the day comes we will take our full allocation of tickets and still beg for more, JP trophy final is still a day out at wembley.

To be honest, I am beginning to wish I'd never mentioned it!

However, trying to be patient and rational, here goes:

1. The UEFA Cup and FA Cup are respectable competitions with some degree of prestige attached (although both have limited currency these days compared with the Champions League & the Premier League). Therefore they are worth taking seriously.

2. The JPT can't - in my opinion - be taken seriously and the very fact that we are competing in it is just a badge showing that we have fallen to a new low. I would prefer us to just concentrate on getting back to the 2nd tier of English football and then taking it from there.

3. I can see that JPT games could provide an opportunity for reserve and Academy players and they should be motivated to go out and try to win such games - obviously. I do understand that we could be fined for fielding weakened sides but I would guess that the size of the fine would be as derisory as the competition.

4. I can also see that many, many supporters would enjoy a day out to Wembley. Good luck to them. and I hope that they would enjoy the day..but I can't attach any meaning whatsoever for a club like Leicester City winning the JPT.

Before Boc pens another carping post having a go at me for being repetitive - can I confirm that I realise that I've made these points before. However, because you, BG, asked the questions, I've taken the trouble to reply. I'm fed up with hearing and posting about such trivia as the JPT now.

Spot on, if we do get their i will be taking my kid to wembley to see the team they support play in a final at wembley for the first time in there live's.

I remembered my first time going to wembley to see city play ,it was one of things you never forget.
