I agree with most of that but the fact is this is his team now, playing the way he wants.I'm prepared to give him time but even you must admit so far his team haven't been an improvement results wise on what went before. The time for him to moan about what he inherited is drawing to close. He is now to be judged on his team here and so far its not been good

I agree with you HF but I just don't feel he has had long enough. I don't think many could argue we look a better side and we have a much stronger squad then before he arrived. I accept it is now down to Ollie to get them playing well and achieving. I personally feel the time to judge him on that is over the remainder of the season and after a pre-season, the start of next.

We have to draw a line in the sand and start building, not constantly tearing up the script when it doesnt work after 5 minutes.

I honstly think people seem to be happy that we have another manager this week and then another for next season when the new one can't perform miracles. Its madness IMO.

I think I few might but in essence I agree but I remember Craig Levein was sacked because we could not risk going down to Division 1,is there a difference with Holloway other than he hasn't had the time Levein had. When MM employed Holloway I doubt Holloway said to him,I might take us down this season but give me 5 years and we will be in the Premier. The fact is,and there is no getting away from it,we are further down the table than we were than the day IH arrived, its all very well playing entertaining football etc but its a Results business and so far Hollways results have been poor.I think he will do better but he won't get til forever.if we go down he will be out on his arse, quite rightly so as well.He will have had enough time to build a team capable of keeping above relelgation,I'm not asking nor expecting more than that.

Honestly, the pool of managers was poor? Unless I'm wrong it included Tigana, one of Europe´s most successful manager, Joe Royle and Peter Reid who´ve both won multiple promotions from this league (and never been relegated from it, unlike Holloway), Grayson who´s turned a nothing Blackpool side into one capable of doing the double over us... Then there's Dowie, who's also won promotion from this league and Sounness (ditto). Holloway was the only manager on our list to tick two boxes - one, been relegated from this league and two, never been promoted from it.
Holloway was clearly a silly choice at the time, still is now and he could be the firstmanager in our history to take us into third tier football. The real Blue Mongies here are the ones who slated Kelly, slated Megson and made excuses for Mandaric sacking Allen who, you don´t need reminding, led us to a 4-1 win over Watford. As for Holloway, will it make any difference whether we sack him or not? If you're losing every game against the whole range of opposition then what can you lose? He's brought in an entirely new strike force and spent a few bob in the process and we still can't score. He´s brought in wingers and midfielders and full backs, he has the responsibility for this team.

I would argue Ferguson or Wenger are better?

But you're living in some Fantasy Island ideal world - we would all want that, given the appropriate circumstances

What if we lose the next five/six games in a row and are sitting pretty rooted at the foot of the table - do your feelings hold true then ?

He has had 17 feckin' games, and it's getting worse, not better. Of course you can 'judge him' on this period of time - especially as he now has seven of his self-titled 'proper' players in situ

Only the genuine nutters think he should be sacked right at this minute - but if this continues for two or three games more, then even the 'normal' fan (?) will start to feel the same

I dont forsee the above happening but in essence I agree with you. However by then it's too late, so for me it's now or never. You got with the 'nutters' or you hold your nerve. Stick or twist homer.

its draw or stand........:018:

Yes true, obviously, but if there was an elite league of managers who'd had success across Europe, he'd be knocking on the door.

I suppose I might be guilty of exaggeration, but his promotion and subsequent success with Fulham, not to mention what he did at Lyon, Monaco and Besiktas, would be enough to make him one of my first choices.

Ahead of Ian Holloway, at least.

Why is it ?

That's crazy talk

Win the next two games (possible), and we'll all look back and laugh
Lose them (also very possible), and we are in deep do do - but still with plenty of time to turn it around

To make a decision right now, one way or the other, is just plain daft

You were talking about 5/6 games inititally though, by then it would be too late IMO. Too late to realistically turn it around and too late to give a new manager the options he would want in terms of loans etc.

When I said now, I meant within the nex few weeks, so I suppose we are agreeing with each other.

How long did Worthington get ?

5 games, he lost 3, got lucky in the other 2. it was more to do with the other results i think

We won't be out of sight after 5/6 games, even if we lose the feckin' lot

Why do people fail to see that stability = success?

You are probably right, keep Holloway long enough and the law of averages says he will eventually select/ buy some decient players and win some matches. But the questions you need to concider are;
How long will it take?
Where will we go until we arrive at the Holyland?
Will MM carry on throwing good money at bad players?
Will the fan base diminish?
Finally
Could another better manager get us there quicker?
The only reason we are in this mess is because of poor managers.
MM should stop trying to do things on the cheap, get his money out and bring a proven quality manager who will make it happen at city

PS: Hollyway is signing his own ending, and it dont matter what any of us say, unless he can turn it around he will be out
