Can anyone confirm that it was Larry May who scored the winning goal at Leyton Orient, to win us promotion to Division One in 1980?
It was the last game of the season, and there were about 11 thousand attending, and about 9thousand City fans. I remember there were quite alot of Glasgow Rangers fans there supporting us and/or the late great Jock Wallace.

In a word yes. I was at that game. The attendance was higher than officially given as some Leicester fans " liberated " one of the exit gates from its moorings I seem to recall.

Cheers for that, I almost felt embarrassed for the Orient fans, it was like there ground had been totally taken over. I remember drinking in one of the local boozers and it was a good atmosphere. A great result and a great day.

I reckon it was 81. I'd only just left school when I went.

According to the Mockery we're set to sign his dad!

Meanwhile, City should find out whether they will complete the signing of goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel next week.
