Did he actually touch the ball?

Whilst he didn't do anything special as I recall, he did look comfortable and like he belonged. Assured passes and touches etc. Maybe we'll get another look Sunday?

About half a dozen times, I reckon

Best player on the pitch, FFS

He looked taller than most of our players so maybe he can have an award for that?

It's the right priority though, particularly with where we are.

The league is BY FAR the biggest priority we have, and then the others need to slot in around that.

If we get to the FA Cup Final, we have 3 more games max left in that competition - including the one we already have to play, since we're already in the Quarter Finals.
To get to the Europa League final adds another 7 games to our season still from now.

We definitely haven't got the squad to play an additional 10 games this season, or even the 8 if we gave up on the FA Cup in our next game.

The league is absolute number one priority. Progression in the other cups is a nice to have if we can. The FA Cup has less games so makes sense as a second priority. You also get less time to recover after Europa League games and more travelling involved, so it's more likely to impact league form.

Not to mention the more realistic chance of winning the FA Cup vs Europa League anyway... (before last night - FA Cup is definitely more likely now!)

It's a shame to go out, but Brendan made the right decision to protect players.
I’m going to disagree that the FA Cup should be a priority. It is a competition we are in every season by default. It’s profile is not as high, and in my view is not the prestigious competition it once was.

I hope Brendan is reading as I'm sure your opinion would be noted ;)

Nah, as I said earlier, we've all got our thoughts on it but they count for little. It's not like we even get a vote.

I never said that. For the short time he was on he was no worse than any of our other players. Looked comfortable. If he stays here, he is going to be a real asset.

Tavares really didn't get time to show anything.

He certainly didn't do anything wrong but I'm not sure you can say much more than that for him.

Hopefully we will see more of him though.

Unless Tavares has signed a contract, why on earth would we play him in preference to someone like Leshabela?

Leshabela has been in and around the first team squad and on the bench much more often than Tavares. It appears that Tavares is the better prospect but I don't think it sends a positive message to play someone who doesn't want to be here over someone who does.

Everything I've read says that Tavares cannot wait to leave and his agent is touting him around europe. If he's going, **** him.

What If he’s not going?

You literally said that “Tavares looked our best player” :017:

From a City perspective, there were no 'best' players in that performance

off topic : I saw George Best play at Filbert Street - can't remeber what year, he was a class above any other player at the time

Because Taveres is a playmaker where as Leshabela is a box to box type...

He didn’t even look our “least shit”player there was one point where he ran it to the edge of the pitch then ran out of ideas.
He looks Schlupp-esque in his decision making (that is to say... he doesn’t make decisions)

Tbh, I'd pretty much stopped watching when he came on. I didn't think there'd be a consolation goal and was past caring. I watched him for a bit but was distracted by something on pornhub.
