Blah blah ****ing blah, which ever team gets that 6th place is in the same mind frame as us at the moment, I don't think they would be giving up so easily on the chance.

Just because we have not beat some shit teams does not mean the playoffs and even winning them is out of the question, teams who have won the playoffs before have lost to some shit sides in the season you know.

It's not over, let's hope the players don't give in like us for the next 5 games.

There just didn't seem to be much energy about us tonight. And the lack of attacking movement was disappointing. I'd be interested to see how we have done in midweek games over the course of the season. I think there might be a decent argument that we haven't fully recovered from the lack of fitness work under Sousa's regime, and that matches in quick succession are too much.

If that is the case it is probably going to take a full pre-season to sort out. I don't think it's quite over yet for this season, but either way I'm optimistic about next season should we still be in this league. We had better be bloody good anyway as I bought my first season ticket today.

i new as soon as the full time whistle went the results would go for us always does. 4 -0 against a good burnley side, outstanding performance, then same old same old. no consistnsy at all. all looked knackered to me. shame. i can see us winning at reading tho. be champions next season if sven is still here.

It will be interesting to see their goal again. I thought the shot was innocuous and Weale had his body properly positioned so was shocked when it went in.
Wellens had the poorest game I have seen from him for a long time.

I was surprised that Howard came on for the Yak. It seems to me that Yakubu is always likely to find a moment of magic.

In the first half Oakley got a right rollocking first from Stowell and then from Sven for being too far forward - he will have been glad to score the equaliser.

Mee was IMO our best player.

All in all not a good game. Credit to Palace who got a point away to a more talented team..

I saw it on SSN earlier. Still not sure how he didn't save it. I assumed wrongly at the time that it got a deflection. It didn't.

Well at least it shut up the Ricardo haters for a bit.

I still think Weale is a safer bet than Ricardo :icon_lol:

In an ideal world, we'd be looking to get a quality keeper in for next year!

Weale cost us 2 points tonight, along with the 2 points he cost us at Boro.

The bloke is a liability and is costing us dearly. Get the **** out and quick.

imo Bruma had more to do with that putting us down to 10 men after Weale had kept us in front with the penalty save.

had me little voting form last night for Player of the Year.....mmmm dunno.
Though there's less to choose from than for Goal of the Season!:icon_eek:

Feck it, I just might vote for Oakley's goal cos I can't choose between them all!

I've still not thawed out, was bloody freezing last night!
Too many players were out of sorts, and tbh it was all a bit 'meh'.
Still, at least Oakley didn't get booed \0/\0/

Disappointing performance overall. Once the realisation set in that fancy passing wasn't going to break them down we didn't seem to have a clue how to do it. The strikers looked to be wanting the ball early to put the pressure on but the defence/midfield didn't seem confident in making anything longer than a 10-yard pass.

I think Sven will spend money on a stronger midfield in the summer to give us an edge over teams that come to the walkers to play like this.

I think the Yakubu comments are a bit unnecessary. He was more or less being marked by 3 men all game and the midfield were too scared to give him an early pass. He had to drop deep or go wide to get involved and, when he did that he was as good as anyone.

Kamara was no where near as good as he was on Saturday but i still don't really remember him giving the ball away.

I liked how the Palace fans were sarcastically cheering for Weale, hopefully that'll shut up the mongies for a bit.

Vassell was brilliant when he came on. He and the back 4 were the only few to come out with any real credit.

What about when he flapped lamely at a cross that would have had the crowd fuming if it was Ricardo?

Or his abysmal distribution - trying to play the ball out quickly often to players totallly unprepared for the ball or in very poor positions?

Or his total lack of any communication with his defence at all times?

Sven dropped a right bollock by giving in to the pressure to bring him back in. A scandalous example of a crowd influencing a manager. I think we'd have several more points right now if both he and Bruma had been nowhere near our team in recent games. Two major errors of judgement from Sven there when neither change needed to be made.

I don't want either Ricardo or Weale in goal at the beginning of next season but I sure know which of the two is the better keeper unlike most of the morons chanting 'Weale, Weale' last night.

Ben Mee was outstanding last night and is developing into a top centre back with some first team action. I sincerely hope that Sven has already negotiated a permanent deal.

Signing him and Naughton up will give us the foundation of a top quality Championship defence for next season. With Bamba and Hobbs too, we'd only need to invest in a quality left back. Maybe Cunningham?

Our midfield look jaded and confused. King has been shocking for several weeks now and is clearly out on his feet mentally and physically. Wellens is running on empty and giving up on chases he;d normally achieve. Oakley is a poor player nowadays but was holding the midfield together last night. That speaks volumes.

Ricardo is shit. Simple as that pal.

Are we going to have the Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich debate all over again? They're both shite.....

Weale has been poor at times this season. Which is surprising as in the previous 2 seasons he was almost faultless.

My problem with Ricardo is, he shows zero confidence on the pitch, and makes some of the most ridiculous decisions i've witnessed from a goal keeper. He takes huge risks at times, which have so far paid off with a bit of luck, nothing else.

Weale may have his faults this season, but I would much prefer him to be between the sticks than Ricardo.

I thought the guy on BBC radio London made a good point. We have 3 midfielders who are good passers of the ball but none of them are capable of dribbling with the ball and beating a man. Consequently, when teams sit back we find it hard to break them down. Sven couldn't change the team last night due to the Burnley performance but perhaps players like Vassell and Dyer are the type of players needed to break down teams that sit back. Just a thought.

Abject.

I thought we were lucky to go in only one down. Oakley, who on the whole I think has been unfairly criticised recently, simply wasn't covering them breaking quickly in the first half. But it wasn't just his rubbish passing that gave the ball away constantly.

The regularity with which Weale lets in these long range efforts/flaps at crosses makes me wonder if he's got a clinical perspective/long range vision problem. Send him to an optician, preferably Saturday afternoon.

At least getting a point last night cleared up one thing. Sousa's league record was w1d2l6. Against the same teams, with only Reading to go, SGE can boast a w1d3l4 return.

Clearly he is the better manager.
