Good job he did, 'cos that was 3-1

We created precisely nothing throughout the game, and only scored because of a typical Liverpool goalkeeping comedy spectacular

We piss around with the truly hopeless Gray up front, whilst two busy-as-anythng strikers sit on the bench twiddling their feckin thumbs . When we finally bring one on (and score straight away) we fart about with the set up and stick our most creative player out wide (where he looked totally lost) and then take him off altogether to brng Amartey on FFS. No wonder the last fifteen mnutes were total crap. What a set of utterly stupid decisions from the clown prince

On the upside, Mendy and N'D'id'i were simply fabulous in the middle of the park, Maddison useful in front of them, Albrighton and 'new Mahrez' very good indeed. What a crying shame they didn't have a forward on the pitch to play with.

Chilwell was outstanding coming forward - what a wing back he would make. Pity we'll never see it.

Maguire did well, covering constantly for the now seriously struggling Morgan next to him, but as a collective defensive unit we are bobbins. Two complete defensive howlers, not to mention that shower in the first three minutes, and one or two others. It's very, very poor

You know what - I think we have some very good players here at the moment. Led and managed correctly we could be top six. We really, really could.

Won't happen with this man in charge.

This is absolutely spot on Homey.

We are a nice inoffensive team who has a good go but don’t upset anyone “important”. Pundits will love us these days as we are predictable and easily ignored.

Will finish middle of pack when there is enough here to really kick on. Eddie Howe with this lot would make your eyes water.

So, is it true that we played well against Man United and Liverpool and lost both. Played poorly against Wolves and Southampton, winning both?
Yes, it is absolutely true.

  • Liverpool have won their opening four games of a league season for the first time since 1990-91 under Kenny Dalglish.
  • Leicester have lost their last 11 Premier League matches against sides starting the day top of the table, scoring just five goals while conceding 27 in those matches.
  • Under Jurgen Klopp, Roberto Firmino has been directly involved in 60 Premier League goals (37 goals, 23 assists), 15 more than any other Liverpool player.
  • No player has assisted Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino more times in the Premier League than James Milner (8).
  • Liverpool midfielder James Milner has now registered 80 Premier League assists, the same number as David Beckham. Only six players have more in the competition.
  • James Milner made his 100th Premier League appearance for Liverpool today (also 100+ games for Aston Villa and Man City). He is the fourth player to reach 100+ apps for three different Premier League teams alongside Gareth Barry, Rory Delap and Gary Speed.
  • Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has had a hand in four goals in his last four Premier League games against Leicester (two goals, two assists).
  • Since the start of last season, no player has more league assists in the top four tiers than Leicester’s James Maddison (16), level with Kevin De Bruyne and Barry Douglas.
  • Leicester City are the first Premier League team to have three Algerian players score for them in the competition following Rachid Ghezzal’s strike (also Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani).

Maddison has been given the assist for today's goal. Surely it was Iheanacho?
I don't think Maddison touched the ball as it went across to Ghezzal.

One for the Dubious Assists Committee, methinks.

would that be the manager who added to the team? our problem is Morgan which will be resolved shortly and we have no replacement for Vardy

Say Vardy gets a longish injury, what do we do then ?

We go into a whole Premier League season where, if Vardy is out for any reason, we have absolutely no idea whatsoever what on earth we are going to do and are hopelessly fumbling around playing people out of position in a desperate attempt to muddle through until Vardy gets back in again

It's possibly the most insanely unprepared, unconsidered season I can remember for years

Is that his only responsibility as a manager?
I’ve been pretty down on Puel but I suspect that he’s told to coach what he’s given rather than doing a Redknapp and signing people.

A few errors too. Ian Nachos and Diabetes being the obvious ones.
I see that they went for ‘Am-ar-tee’ rather than ‘yoo-yooless-****’.

what top striker would come here? Vardy is nailed on to play so which striker of a similar quality would come to sit on the bench?

no point suggesting a 352 as we aren't going to play that

A bit disappointed with the result, especially at home but we matched a very good side but lacked a clinical finisher, some have mentioned our lack of depth in the forward ddepartment, but I'm sure Musa. Slimani, Ulloa would not have cut the mustard against this Liverpool team. Oh for a Linekar, Cottee, Heskey, Dougan and lots of other box sniffers, we've had in the past, but even then, we never managed to consistenly beat top teams.
Still as I've said previously top six by the end of September is well within our reach, there seems to be so many poor teams in this league (again). Onwards and upwards!
Back to the striker problem, I'm not sure who could succesfully partner Jamie Vardy, or why Wes Morgan is still in the team, these two issues are a big problem for the manager, (whoever that may be), but are minor given the quality in the squad.

I do think either Slimani or Ulloa would have made a difference today.

I understand why both were moved on but it’s left us light on options.
