Awful long ball shit in the first half. Hoooooof! They played us off the park and we were lucky to still be in it, let alone ahead. Much better in the last 30-35 minutes when we finally started to dominate. Excellent work rate right to the end and we finally got our passing game together, which made a big difference.

Konchesky got turned continually. Peltier looks like the signing of the season. Centre backs did well to keep their strikers quiet. Nugent should have taken one of his chances, but he put in a right shift, as did King, Dyer, Beckford and Danns when he came on.

All in all, we were quite lucky. But three points and a clean sheet - happy enough with that!

Typical Pearson performance. Very ugly on occasions but also very effective. Percentage football and very committed. Bamba, peltier, king and wellens outstanding IMO. Kasper keeps out a big big chance for them. Roll on Hull!

First half looked pretty evenly matched, second half we were the better side. We look much better organised under Pearson and work much harder off the ball, particularly where closing down is concerned. Standout players for me today were Dyer and Konchesky, who were both great but there isn't a player who I can accuse of having a bad game today.

Have to be pleased with the result and the performance.

Bamba didn't do an awful lot wrong for the 90 minutes, made some typical interceptions and dominated in the air. Young kept saying how unsure he is and he has 4 or 5 moments a match where he could cost us, which is utter bollocks. The Bambino stepped under a long ball near the end which was duly mopped up with ease but Young lost it and started banging on about how St Ledger is the best centre half we have. He comes across as a bit of a tit most of the time.
