Special mention to the pair of absolute ****wits who started abusing people on our row...

Same for the FIFA-17 twat sitting behind me in the family stand who squeaked "You're just a ManCity reject" every time the ball went near Nasri. I thought the eventual red card was going to give us all some relief... but then the FIFA-14 twat sitting beside him saw fit to remind him about Jovetic.

If we get ManCity in the quarters these two need to be banned!

Full credit to them for this, it was spectacular and really adds to the night for me.

Nobody can slag our fans off these days, great effort.

I like that the quote was a very subtle dedication to Claudio but also a perfect nod to the current manager.

Yep, agree with all of that :023:

Thanks for posting that vid pork pie. I found the banner quite difficult to make out before watching it.

It was nice but I'd have hated to be below it and miss out on all the pre-game stuff.

Post match analysis

Shakespear's post match press conference

It was the best night game ever. Better than winning the FA Cup replay against Manchester City at Filbert Street in front of 42,000 . Better than drawing 3-3 against the Arsenal.

I felt confident and excited all day and not nervous at all in the second half.

Seeing Sevilla fans in the club shop buying LCFC replica shirts and mini kits for their kids made me feel so proud to be Champions.

A truly fantastic night that will live in the memory a long time.

To quote Craig Shakespeare in his post match interview:

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here

One thing that was clear yesterday but also in the Liverpool match. It feels like we've become 'streetwise' again, niggling tackles, 'looking for' free kicks etc. (Or as my wife put it when I said this yesterday, 'so cheating then?'!)

That was how we played last year, unpopular as it was, but I feel we'd lost that edge.

Conscious decision by the previous management?
Made up post-hoc analysis nonsense by me?

Did he mean next season? We're still in with a chance to qualify.
