Once it's been spent, there's not a lot you can do about it. NP decided that, for whatever reason, Morgan is a better investment, and that's absolutely fine with me. I'd have loved Mills to come here and live up to his price tag and expectations, but he hasn't. It's not NP's fault that he cost £5m (less add-ons that won't be met).

Would you use the same argument for not signing a replacement for Akinbiyi? Cost is irrelevant once it's been finalised.

Pearson was happy to play Mills, until the bust up. I do not think that Mills was dropped on form: from the little that I have seen, Morgan is hardly a giant leap forward in quality!

In which case mills should be taking the st ledger route back into the side by changing his attitude. I was excited about mills coming, but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire and I saw him before the season had already started with a brand new audi r8. Can't rememeber who it was but there was a footballer who said he only ever bought stuff like that at the end of a season when he had achieved 20 goals. Mills needs a target.

If anything that I have said suggests that Mills is the greatest footballer to grace the King Power Stadium, or that he is the nicest man, I retract. He has been OK as a player, particularly considering his lack of a pre-season, and as to his character, I have never met the man and have not read sufficient unbiased biography to pass any judgement.

Nigel Pearson is paid a lot of money to manage this club. I simply feel that he is not paid to wage his own vendettas. He doesn't have to like Mills, but he should learn to work with him.

I'll agree. I don't know what happened between Mills and Pearson but it is quite disappointing that Pearson has been unable to get anything out of a player we all had high hopes for. In some ways it's irrelevant what happened; the fact remains our club captain and big money signing has been ostracized and we aren't getting the best out of the investment.

I'm with Pearson, but he seems to have problems with players of a certain ilk.

Fair enough points, but the fact is ( in my eyes anyway ) that Mills was in a dreadful run of form and showed no signs of improving, he was getting worse game by game. He was then dropped. He then had a bust-up with Pearson, and if anyone says they know exactly what went on there, they ain't telling the truth in my opinion. The fact Mills cost a lot of money and is paid a lot of money is neither here nor there. He was not playing anywhere good enough to be in the squad. Again, my opinion, but I have seen plenty of the white-booted one this season and reckon that Reading must be laughing themselves silly. Their defence has not exactly suffered in the absence of Mills and they got a few bob to boot.

Financial stability is the phrase you were looking for. Fiscal doesn't mean what you think it means, therefore your opinion is irrelevant

I stand corrected - and thank you. I did not realise the specialised meaning of the word: none the less, the point still stands.:081:
