I think you'll find it wasn't the police who attacked the coaches :icon_roll

I would not put it past them.......smash the brake lights, dressed as chavs, then nick them for it on the narborough road..:icon_razz

These attacks would not have happened if the Old Bill had been around..

It wouldn't have happened had the police given the away fans an escort.
It also wouldn't have happened if our " supporters " acted like fully paid-up members of the human race.

Escorted coaches have been attacked before.

Maybe so, but not with our lot of so called baby squad wannabees. One sign of the law and they are gone. The chances of an attack with an escort are somewhat limited would you not say?

Why are people so keen to blame the police rather than the people who actually are to blame?

Because thats what our hard earned taxes pay for. If we didnt have mindless twats the Old Bill would not be needed, but every club has them and the good fans deserved to be protected from them. Be they home fans or away fans.
Look at the over kill of police attendance for the Cardiff and Spurs games.
At half time for the Spurs game, there were police in riot gear in our block in the East stand, we sit in block J. Well over the top. It was if they were having to justify the enormous policing bill.

The chance of an attack would be reduced if the police were there, but we shouldn't be in the situation where the police are needed.

I know that and you know that..... but the mindless chav twats look upon it as an opportunity. They have bigger shoe sizes then their IQ. Its a sad fact of life in football, but its still safer than the 70's or early 80's. we dont want to go back to that

But according to you the mindless chav twats aren't to blame, you said it was 100% the police's fault!

at away games i walk around with my city shirt on in pubs and streets nowhere near a police escort and i doubt i'd be blaming them if i was kicked to shit. only people to blame is human rights activists for not allowing late (eg. 12years up) abortions for such fecktards who probably dont know better or anything

The mindless idiots are looking for trouble of some sort anyway, the trouble will not happen if there is an escort, without it does. That makes it a 100% police mistake. Who made the decision not to have an escort? FFS tigers were playing at the same time so the traffic was twice as bad. They needed the escort to get to the motorway quickly to ease the congestion, as well as protect the saints fans from our scum

Tell me where I said the "chav twats" are not to blame. If you think I am sticking up for them then you are badly mistaken

Thank the good lord because it nearly ruined the game. My early days down Filbo were filled with rival fans fighting before during and after the game. Those bloody high fences to segregate the fans also made lousy viewing, and Maggie Thatchers threat to ban away fans would have about killed the game.

I do too, but thats on my own back and I dont usually go into the pubs though. Its just usually from parking the car and walking to the ground. Its usually pretty safe, but then again I would not wear colours at say Cardiff or Millwall away.
If I was on a coach I would expect some sort of police protection as its coaches that have been singled out in the past for fecking idiot chavs to have a go at.

You said the police are 100% to blame. Surely this means everyone else is 0% to blame. Or are you using a version of maths I'm not familiar with?

It was a mistake for there not to be a police escort - and we don't know the reason for this, maybe there was an emergency somewhere else they were needed for, or maybe the SAG decided it wasn't necessary, but there are thousands of fans who travel to matches by car/train every week who don't get police escorts, so it shouldn't really be necessary to escort coaches.

I had more trouble yesterday from some lumpish b*****d Tigers fan in an Audi who clearly thought my wife, daughter and I were fair game for driving into after the match yesterday, then looked suprised when I vented my anger and spleen on him and his foul progeny. Ignorant egg-chasing smegma-breath git!

No police escort so we got bogged down in traffic.
As someone who has used the coaches a fair bit, the police do not always give you an escort out of town. We didn't have one at Plymouth last Tuesday, for example.

This isn't to justify what our brainless tossers have done, but to put some perspective into the argument.

Yeah they won't come to our town again, those useless Southampton South Coast tnucs. We sure showed 'em.... Who's next? Wolves? Bet we don't see any of that repeat itself when their firm arrives next week...You watch. Pathetic.

For anyone who doean't know me on here by now - this post is purely ironic..not meant to offend, just me being silly - sorry...I only fight when the police are about....(also a joke..)
