Leicester has signed Delme Herriman, a member of the English national team. He has previously played for Wright State, and professionally in Austria, France, Holland and Germany.

Tickets this year are £9.95 (why not just £10)
£6.95 for concessions (Under 16's, OAP, NUS)

Yeah, it isn't the biggest gym for capacity, but at this point it doesn't matter as they don't sellout. I think I remember reading rumblings about a new arena for basketball in Leicester....

Big probelms in the league this summer

London Towers replaced by London Utd, Worcester replace Brighton

Team GB lie 3rd in their Eurobasket qualifying game, they won Holland at the weekend with both of the GB's NBA players playing.

I forgot to add Brum have also left the league claiming that the lack of a TV deal with not providing enough money to continue operating.

Team GB beat Albania by 3 pts and lie in second in their EuroBasket Division B, Group 2. They take on Belarus tomorrow in Sheffield if they win topping the group is possible and they will have to wait for next year to play the reserve fixtures. Hopefully by then the Deng Brothers, one of which plays for Chicago Bulls will have a UK passport.

Team GB need to get out of the EuroBasket Division B in order to prove their worth for the 2012 Olympic games. It will be harder, they need to finish to top of their group or be the second best team to then have a play-off home and away next October.

is he the guy who has just been made the highest paid british sports star in the world?

matter of opinon
I only put in their to get Hazza excited, I don't care for basketball, but I couldn't call it rubbish. As you say, it's all opinion. I'm just fortunate that mine is the only right one

Yeh, he's not technically British yet. He's been in all the papers this week. British Basketball is currently advertising on its website, anyone with any trace of British in them or any background of living in Britain and you're a decent player, contact Team GB immediately. You could be in the team soon.

Its a transitional period, the players from the Melbourne Commonwealth Games are past it and the team needs to be updated for the 2012 Olympics. This includes about 4 players on the fringes of NBA and a few lads from the colleges which are difficult to get release from. There is the few players which ply their trade in Europe including Coalville lad, Andy Betts who plays in Germany.

By the way, Spain are Basketball World Champions.

how did the usa not win that?

My mate used to play basketball for England in the 70's. He even toured America and played against the Harlem Globetrotters

I suggest anybody who hasnt been Basketball give it a try, its cracking sport, quick is not the word. Its thrill-a-second if the two teams are competitive enough.

Along with Ice Hockey, two American sports worth visiting. Instead of the slow patterns of Baseball and American Football.
