How long does a team need to gel ?

The reason I ask is that I keep seeing people at the club saying "we need time to gel" or "it will come good" or "players are getting used to each others style" blah blah blah.

How long does that take then? and when can I starting calling for Svens head?

Who knows? Charlton have signed about 20 players since the start of the transfer window and they seem to be doing alright.

I do think there's a lot to be said for picking your best team and sticking with it, the players are never going to work out eachother's runs and movement on and off the ball etc, if the team and tactics are changing week in, week out.

Personally, I think our best 11 is:

Kasper
Peltier, Mills, Bamba, Konchesky
Fernandes, Wellens, Danns
King,
Vassell/Nugent, Beckford

Agree with that, though at the moment i'd swap Mills for Tunchev who is getting good reviews for Palace and appears to have put his injury problems behind him.

Any news on Beckford's injury? Is he going to be fit for this? Assuming Nuge is still out. I'm hoping for the more 'diamond' style lineup we had against Forest. King, Danns, Fernandes and Wellens in midfield.

After looking at most of the posts ,it seems the feeling going around is we aint got it (couldnt agree more).but sorry i still blame the manager and staff,until they get themselves sorted out , we are on a loser,problems begin from the top and work into the players.when the season began we should have had 12 easy points from the first 4 games,,6 games in and if it hadnt been for kasperi think it would have been 6 points at the most .just not good enough.
