Re: Local Football/Non-League Thread 2010-11

Rushden & Diamonds have entered administration and, according to the administrator, are no longer "in a position to continue trading".

An appeal against Conference expulsion was withdrawn, and the club were refused entry to the Southern League.

In a letter to the club's creditors, the administrator said it had been appointed "to realise property in order to make a distribution [to] creditors".

A Diamonds official had previously said the club would enter into receivership.

Administrator AJ Clark of Carter Clark wrote: "I shall be preparing a report in connection with the affairs of the company, and proposals for achieving the purposes of the administration. This will be made available to creditors within eight weeks of my appointment.

LUTON Town’s opening Blue Square Bet Premier match at AFC Telford on Saturday has been cancelled on police advice, writes Mike Simmonds.

A statement on the Bucks website this morning said: “Saturday’s eagerly anticipated Blue Square Bet Premier clash between AFC Telford Utd and Luton Town has been postponed after a request by the Gold Command of West Mercia Police.

“AFC Telford Utd, Luton Town and the Football Conference were left with little option but to agree with the request due to the unprecedented local and national circumstances.

“With the greatest sincerity, we apologise unreservedly for any inconvenience this has caused and we will issue an announcement as soon as we can with regards to the rearranged fixture and details regarding tickets purchased for the event.”

Unprecedented local and national circumstances...and the ****s from the EDL wanting to march through the ****ing town.

Chief Inspector Keith Gee said:
"I would ask people to remember that although there is legislation in place that could potentially ban a march; we simply cannot stop EDL members from coming to Wellington to hold a peaceful protest that day. Everyone has the right to protest peacefully and therefore it would be irresponsible of us not to prepare for a large scale protest to ensure we have resources and plans in place to cover every likely eventuality."

Chief Inspector Keith Gee said:

And there was me thinking the EDL were protecting our streets and the indigenous people of England. Bunch of wankers all.

Stockport offer fans a match for nothing as they have promised to refund all tickets if they lose the opener to Ebbsfleet.

Kettering offer the lowest price matchday tickets in the BSP for the rest of the season.

Ladak is going all out to get rid of his £s having spent a mint on players, free all-u-can-eat Chinese meals at the last home game and giving us the first managerial sacking of the season.

Terracing, witty banter and goals for a bargain price? I can't see me ever returning to the upper reaches of football.

I often wish I had your courage.

Earlier this week she refused to rule out that she was shagging the owner.

Today's Non-League Paper:

Friends last night rallied to support new Mansfield Town chief executive after it was revealed she used to be an escort girl. The 29 year old workrd for an agency called Lucy Brookes while studying politics at Durham University almost 10 years ago before returning to escorting in 2009 with another agency called McKenzies

My cousin playing for Hartley Whitney FC beat Bashley FC, mid-table in Southern Premier... three tiers higher yesterday in the FA Cup, 1-0. Really hope they get a decent draw next round against a non-league big boy. I wonder which he considers more of an achievement this or playing for Forest against Ajax.

Another cousin is about to sign a deal with Stoke at 15, with wages trigged at 16.

Re: Local Football/Non-League Thread 2010-11

Not sure if I should have made a separate thread about the F A Cup as it was FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round at the weekend. However as the team based where I was brought up (Thurnby Lodge), called Thurnby Nirvana these days, are in a replay with Barrow Town on Tuesday night I thought I would mention it.

Anyone interested here is the full FA Cup draw for the Second Round Qualifying Round where the winner of the above tie plays away at Mickelover Sports
