Call me cynical but i reckon part of the reason for not having an open topped bus is becasue they want to sell as many games for the scunthorpe game as possible, and they know if thats the only opportunity the fans will have to see the celebrations, then it will sell out.

personaly however i dont feel this deserves an open top celebration, as this is a season of relief more then achievement.

After last season, we deserved to be a League 1 team this season.

We went into this season equal with the likes of Leeds, Carlisle, and even Hereford. Every team equally deserved to be where they were. And I think we should celebrate fully that we were the best of those 24 teams that deserved to be in League 1 for the 2008/2009 season.

Yes it is a relief, but that shouldn't make it any less of a celebration.

Thank goodness there isn't going to be the open top bus etc.

The club has put things right this season and everyone is to be congratulated - but I hope we've still got too much pride to turn this situation into an unnecessary embarrassment.

The open bus scenario should be kept for major triumphs - like getting promoted back to the Premiership or winning a cup competition (JPT excepted obviously) or reaching the FA Cup Final.

Thanks God for no open top bus! Despite feeling elated at the moment, when we look back we will surely be very grateful to Nige and his players and the staff but lets be honest if we hadn't of got promoted we would of all been gutted and suprised. Promotion is the minimum we expected this year, lets enjoy the moment but we have achieved what we should of this year and ultimately deep down what we were expecting. Now we are back the real work can begin and we can bulid for the championship. This is a position we should never of been in but we were and Nige thanks for getting us out of it but sorry to be a killjoy we have won league 1 ! Now let's get the real business sorted out in the championship.

In my opinion, that is a very good post, Harbro-Fox.

How could it be the minimum we expected? Unless you honestly expected us to win a cup what would be the maximum?

Ye I suppose I worded that wrong soz! I was just trying to say that really most of if not all of us really did expect promotion.

Tbh, i was just hoping for a play-off spot, didnt think wed get it automatically let alone as champions, may just have been my pessimism after the dire crap wed had to watch under Levein/Holloway and the rest (though not so much the rest)
