Mahrez is great. Would be a shame to lose him, but deal has to be good for the club. I also can't really see the point in using him at all if he plans to leave. May as well give Gray the last few games and have Kapustka on the bench instead.

Certainly can understand it. If the player wants to leave (he probably does) then you really aren't left with much choice. But the club won't be able to replace him with similar quality (I'm not having this Gray nonsense) and it will be a massive loss.

It all depends on where you judge the "similar quality". If you're talking about last season Mahrez, then I completely agree with you. If you're talking about this season Mahrez, then I personally think we can replace him with similar or better.

The unknown is which Mahrez we would see next season, if he stays. And that's why there's such a debate.

What? You think he earns the same money as one of the top 15 players in the world? Do you think that this makes any difference to the way his game was strangled earlier in the season by management?

He was voted top 15 in the world. No I don't think £100K plus a waak is top 15 pay, it's pay that says you should be better than "perfectly fine" on a few match days.

Says who? You are re-writing history to suit your argument. Normally people do they AFTER they win a war.

I've been watching how many defenders Mahrez has on him in games.

Today he once had 4 defenders on him. It had started with none, he got the ball and the first was quickly on him and then a second joined him, Ndidi ran past him on the wing with no defender but Riyad chose to run with the ball in towards two other defenders before losing the ball - with Ndidi now in front of him and needing to get back.

Having said that though I thought that he had a good game today, far, far above his season's average.

Starts and plays a big part in the move for the first goal.

Uses a bit of skill no other player either current or past would be capable of producing to win the penalty.

And then is desperately unlucky to slip on the on the penalty.

Granted he should have scored the penalty but the slip can happened to anyone.

If it wasn't for him today we wouldn't have scored at all.

And yet some of you still want him out?

To be honest I will be glad to see his back this summer. His lack of interest and work ethic really annoys me and I feel he is holding Our team back and especially Grey. He is better than Mahrez

My thoughts exactly.

Demarai Gray is NOT a better player than Mahrez.

Perhaps we'll get a chance to better judge that next season. Mahrez has peaked and gone over, Gray is still on the way up. If Mahrez goes off to sit on a CL bench somewhere then Gray can start maturing into the talent some of us already see.

I love Mahrez he has been a fantastic signing and the most talented footballer I have ever witnessed in a City shirt, I will be sad to see him leave but feels he has outgrown us and deserves his opportunity to play at one of the big clubs. It has been a wonderful 4 years for all parties and in my eyes he would leave as a Foxes legend and should always receive a hero's reception.

Some people on here are really are unbelievable.

He hasn't played well for most of the season but perhaps bar two players who has.

The answer to this is obviously to sell him - ****ing hell, really?

He is absolute class and that doesn't diminish with one poor (or average season). He will be world class again very soon and anyone who wouldn't want to see him be just that in a Leicester shirt is an idiot.

Yes, £50 million worth of shit, you couldn't make it up.

Demarai Gray is NOT a better player than Mahrez.

And he never will be either. Nowhere near. Not a hope.

We've replaced great players before and it's only then that we learn what we've lost. Off the top of my head, I have strong memories of Mark Bright replacing Gary Lineker. It was great for one match and then the truth set it. Or when Matty Jones replaced Neil Lennon. Well, that never looked like working. Billy Davies was once supposed to be the replacement for Gary McAllister. More recently, Mendy was supposed to replace Kante wasn't he?

I've been watching City now for almost 40 years. One of the few certainties I can pass on is to never wish away a great player.

Of course everyone would want to see him be world class again in a Leicester shirt. Those who think it would be right for him to leave, including me, don't think he will be world class again in a Leicester shirt. I think he will be world class again in the shirt of a bigger club, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure if we sell him to Chelsea and he has a storming season next year, lots of people will be saying "told you so, told you he'll be world class again". And that's fair enough, but doesn't mean to say he would have been in a Leicester shirt next season.

And calling someone an idiot for having a different opinion to you is rich. I could have sworn I read that you thought Ranieri should have been allowed to get us relegated. Nothing idiotic about that at all...

Agree with you and like the way you ignore all those players who left us and were shit.
