What amazes me is that all the "sources" are talking of a £30m price tag. I'd be asking for triple that and expecting double.

I see than Jan Oblak is £85m

Of course everyone would want to see him be world class again in a Leicester shirt. Those who think it would be right for him to leave, including me, don't think he will be world class again in a Leicester shirt. I think he will be world class again in the shirt of a bigger club, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure if we sell him to Chelsea and he has a storming season next year, lots of people will be saying "told you so, told you he'll be world class again". And that's fair enough, but doesn't mean to say he would have been in a Leicester shirt next season.

And calling someone an idiot for having a different opinion to you is rich. I could have sworn I read that you thought Ranieri should have been allowed to get us relegated. Nothing idiotic about that at all...
Firstly the idiot quote was generic, hence no one in particular was quoted.

Yes, and I still believe Ramieri should have been allowed to continue in his job even if it did take us down.

That said Shakey has done a remarkable job.

The 2 things don't have to sit together though.

Quite a few occasions yesterday where he had only one man on him and yet he managed to lose possession so easily.

He doesn't ghost past players with fluidity anymore, he stops, tries to change direction from a halt and loses the ball.

So much about his game has changed, and not just because of the way we play.

Judging by a video I saw yesterday he's also been making comments about Chelsea being a real club.

As I've said before, its not that I want him sold, I just wouldn't have a breakdown if we did.

Apart from when he ghosted past Clichy for the penalty, he definitely didn't ghost past anyone at all, apart from the one he did, that should have got us a completely unexpected point from the game.

Of course he will probably leave in the summer as he is far too good for us, but to want him to leave is quite idiotic tbh.

This is another line of argument that I don't understand. Mahrez can do one thing the whole game (although yesterday that wasn't the case). It may or it may not end up in a goal and people think that's enough. If Huth only blocked one shot, or Ndidi only made one tackle they'd rightly be laughed out of the team.

That Chelsea vid thing....just seen that. Obviously staged by the pair. It's not like Slimani just heard about them winning the league moments before.

Even stranger

Don't think there's much strange about it really. One day he's banging on about winning stuff and then he's rimming a named club in front of a world audience. i can only assume his agent has no credit left on his phone and is unable to let other teams know he's seeking new pastures.

If Paul Pogba was 80 million and not PFA player of the year or in the quarter finals of the champions league what price is Mahrez?

So if Ranieri managed Chelsea/Liverpool/Man Utd/or any other top 8 club would everyone be saying he should stay until the end even if it meant relegation?
We are premier league champions and set the standard last season are you suggesting because we are little old Leicester we should have stuck with CR????

My post is clear. No where does it mention 'little old Leicester.'

I am trying to see the rationale for your quote "Yes, and I still believe Ranieri should have been allowed to continue in his job even if it did take us down." IMO your quote defies logic

Yes, I believe we should (now possibly could) have allowed Claudio to continue regardless of the outcome of the season.

My decision wasn't based on 'pure' logic, it had elements of sentimentality and loyalty running through it. If that is illogical then so be it.

That doesn't detract from how well Shakey has done. As I've already said the two elements are not linked.

Completely agree with you regarding Shakey I would say on your other point with CR that the board gave him a lot longer than most

Almost certainly so.

It still doesn't sit comfortably with me that he was sacked.

For football and financial only reasons it was probably the right decision but morally it still irks.

That's probably just me though as I am almost certainly too sentimental.

Most of this season doesn't sit comfortably with me. It's made my attitude towards possibly losing some league winning legends leave change massively. Players like Kasper id be gutted but totally accept their move as they've earned it and kept going this season. Some like Mahrez have already moved on and the feeling of missing them has been for nearly a year, time heals and that.

Agreed.
