Obviously has something to do with them not being able to sign for us for another month which is why they are at our training ground in our training gear.

But if a player then signs for another club, the new club would be expected to pay his wages from the moment he signs. That could end up costing them six figures to pay someone who won't turn up for work until July anyway. The current system suits players and their new clubs.

Understand that jeff - one assumes that a player signs for his new club as from 1st july as he has already been compensated for this period under his previous contract. given our 'high tech' approach to fitness, i would think that hamer and upson will be assessed at belvoir drive well before july 1st and given their holiday instructions re fitness.

Was thinking about this in the context of three at the back which will likely become the new 4-2-3-1 next season. One of the three needs to be a decent ball player. Although i dont recall him being 'franz beckenbauer', i imagine he must be better than wes, wasyl and liam in this area??
