:icon_lol: It's true though. Foreign potential owners of English clubs would never get involved in a club with an old stadium. No way would they buy a Liverpool, Man United, Blackburn, Notts County, Derby, Portsmouth, QPR, Birmingham, Ipswich, Aston Villa or Chelsea.
....Fulham, Cardiff....

Steve Cotterill - oh dear. :icon_lol:

How can football chairmen actually be that stupid?

Portsmouth fans on another forum are over the moon. They all wanted him sacked anyway, now they're getting compo for him to boot.

He's a great manager in League Two, mind, but has always been woefully out of his depth in the Championship.

This guy sums it up nicely.....

Steve Cotterill is another one of those managers with a great pedigree but have actually done very little to have earned it. He has won less than 30% of his games in charge at Portsmouth and it’s not like the club doesn’t have some half decent players. Steve Cotterill as a manager has less than a 30% winning percentage in any league above League 1 in three different stops as manager. That to me doesn’t scream out that he’s my guy.

Is this confirmed? Doesn't seem to say so on sky or the bbc websites...? Good news if true, he's shit.

But lets look at that list.

Man U and Liverpool are the two highest profile and most successful clubs this country have ever had.

Villa and Chelsea grounds have both been redeveloped in the last 10 years, and have capacities of 40k plus - there hardly old stadiums like goodison park for example

QPR are in London

Ipswich's takeover is hardly anything to write home about

And the less said about Birmingham, Blackburn, Notts County and Portsmouth the better!

Cotterill has done ok at Portsmouth considering the financial constraints. Its clear thats why Forest want him.

What financial constraints? They have spent a lot under him. This is not the bankrupt Portsmouth of 2 years ago.

His record at Championship level with Portsmouth, Stoke and Burnley is very poor. No idea why chairmen keep hiring him at this level, he's a good manager in League Two but is clearly out of his depth in the Championship.

Not sure where to start with this really. I'd argue exactly the opposite.

They've spunked a decent amount of money for a very, very mediocre return.

I'm not sure he will do an awful job at Forest mind, but his tenure at Pompey has been anything but a success.
