I thought he would come good, especially after the Spurs game I thought that would spark him into life. But when I look at the two guy's who have been playing up front since CL went he just isnt in their league in either commitment, effort or skill.

Not news I know but simply a changing view.

I would never doubt his effort and committment, he always gave 100%

Leicester City striker Mark de Vries says he will consider his future over the summer after refusing a permanent move to Heerenveen.
The Dutch striker spent the second half of last season on loan at the Eredivisie outfit, who confirmed on Tuesday that they would not be using the option to sign him on a permanent basis.

De Vries is now expected to be back training with Leicester when they begin pre-season on July 3 but admits he is usure whether he will still be at The Walkers Stadium when the season starts in August.
"I will have to wait and see what happens," de Vries told De Telegraaf. "There should be interest from other clubs, maybe a permanent or loan move will be possible."

The former Hearts front-man was given relatively few opportunities while at Heerenveen, but still managed to bag three goals in nine appearances.
Despite having the option to stay in Holland, de Vries turned the offer down and has since revealed his disappointment at the lack of chances at the club.
"The coach told me he preferred to use other players," he added. "I could have stayed with Heerenveen but when I heard the club wanted to use me as a pinch-hitter I decided to leave."

It was his choice to leave, maybe Heerenveen wanted him as back-up.

But you should know by now I can't stop myself correcting people!

Only when they are wrong! If people didn't keep making mistakes, you could have a well-deserved break.

Yes, but 100% of pure shite

He doesnt match Hume or Fryatt in Commitment IMO. These two chase eveything down, MDV didnt run for too many lost causes.

Probaly cos he was knacked from chasing Elvis.

Can anyone see MDV getting into the team next season? I can't stand the thought of having him back. To be honest, I can't see anyone but Hume, Fryatt & O'Grady up front unless we get new strikers in. Elvis & MDV are a waste of space as far as I'm concerned.

MDV's quote makes it pretty clear that he, his agent, and probably LCFC will be looking around in the summer. I'd be surprised if he's still around next season. He'll probably go on loan somewhere - we might have to take a hit on the wages, but I've got a feeling they'll get shot of him however they can, as he's obviously not in the same "I will fight for my place" mood he was in this time last year.

I'd be happy enough if he stayed to be honest, but I think he'd be fourth choice behind Fryatt, Hume and O'Grady. He can be very good - a match winner in fact - when he's in the mood, but a demotivated, unhappy MDV, which is what we've got now, is really just a bit of a donkey taking up a place in the team.

MDV doesn't want to come back, City don't want him so if no-one comes in before mid July he'll be paid off and free to find a club off his own back.

He won't be here for the new season.

Do you know something that Rob Kelly doesn't? His comment to the Mercury was "[MdV] was always our player, with another two years on his contract, and next season we will need all the strength we can possibly have in the squad."

I know its unlikely that a manager who wants to get rid of a player (ideally for a fee) is going to say "I think he shit and overpaid and can't wait to get rid of him"

I had heard it was not down to RK that MDV went out on loan in the first place?
