Think Taggs is one for the future but if he was being groomed for the job why is he only being appointed as a coach? whilst Frank Burrows is set to become assistant.IMO MM has only made Taggs a coach to sweeten the sour taste left in our mouths by him Appointin Megson.
I really hope im wrong but i have got a really bad feeling about the rest of this season if Megson was any good he wouldnt have been out of management for 18months and he was considering a coaching role with stoke last week.
Big MISTAKE Milan we will end up like Leeds !!!!

I know contracts these days are not worth the paper they written on, but The Times are reporting he's to be given a 3 year deal.

I don't think Megson would be up for doing the job on a short term basis IMHO.

The three year deal could include the step up to Director of Football at an agreed time.

Burrows will remain as Assistant Manager if and when Taggs steps up to the Managers role to provide some experience to the backroom team.

Long term I think the structure will be as follows :

D of F - Megson

Manager - Taggart

Asst Man - Burrows

First Team Coaches - Elliott & Izzet

Why not, it looked as though MM would appoint a D of F but perhaps by appointing Megson it kills two birds with one stone and allows Taggs an opportunity to serve an apprenticeship under Megson whilst allowing in the same time some continuity.

i totally agree, megson does have the experience, so it be a good move, and if it is a bad move MM aint going keep him long then,

Megson :icon_sad: I'll still be going to games, still support the team etc. But don't expect me to like Megson, hated him as a player, especially at the Wendys (Grimsby thing) where he was particularly obnoxious.
But the point is, will that stop him doing a job? I don't think so.
I will still support my club, and you never know Megson may even prove to be the right appointment and I might even mellow towards him (doubt it though, mellowing towards him I mean).

Hopefully his time here will emulate WBA rather than the Trees.

You never seen him shake one of our own defenders when he made a mistake then? Can't recall who it was now but remember a match at Filbo when he went ballistic at one of ours and had to be pulled away by Matt Elliott.

I think you will be surprised at just what some people would / are prepared to accept, just to get a foothold back into the game. Megson has been out of football for 18 months and has been coaching for feck all at Stoke, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him accept just about anything so he can make a comeback......plus money is always a decent motivator.
