Where were you in May 1991?

I'm sure there are many more interesting memories of THAT day in 1991 but I was 14 and sat at home in Anglesey on my own listening to five live and waiting for the goal reports to come through. No Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, no text updates, no internet, no Radio Leicester for me. It was feckin agony, and it's not gonna be any easier being in touch with Saturday's match through all that media :icon_conf

I'm sure I remember Martin George et al soon after saying we would never be in that position again :icon_roll

He did say that, and maybe we wouldn't have been if he'd have been picking the managers.

I was in the old family enclosure standing up. And i'm sure my cousin ended up with tony spearings shorts.

As i was 2 at the time, i wouldn't have known much about football, let alone LCFC, but i have seen the goal on a DVD that kept us in the league and hoping for more of the same come Sunday!

was a great day. If we are saved this time round I think I will have completely different emotions.

I was 12, sitting in the family enclosure. I remember eating about three packs of chewing gum as I was so nervous.

The day I got married :icon_roll

The best man and some others went legging it off to Filbert Street as soon as the speeches were finished.

I was 11 sat in the main stand, my enduring memory isn't so much the goal but waiting for the west brom result to come through at the end of the game and the subsequent pitch invasion - i really wanted to get involved but the old man wasn't so keen!

I really wish I was going to Stoke but going to have to find somewhere in London which will show our game rather than the Arsenal match argh

I was there, aged 5, sat in the Double Decker with my dad.
It wasn't the first match I ever went too but it is the first one I remember going too. Been hooked ever since. (well until now)

I was at home comfortable in the knowlege that we would beat Brighton, just hoping that WBA wouldn't win thier game.

I had constant TV & radio updates to keep me informed and it felt really great when the results were finally in.

On that day we just had to do better than WBA did to stay up, just like Southampton now have to do better than we do. I was more confident in 1991 than I am now.

Erm....Who the fcuk were you supporting on that day?

I was in the Double Decker with me mum & dad to watch the Oxford game. Joyous scenes at the end of that match that I remember with almost as much fondness as the MON years. Difference is the players were shite then unlike now which is why I will be releived and not ecstatic should we fluke our way out of it on Sunday.

sat in the east stand remember hearing early on that Rovers had gone down to 10 men and becoming even more nervous but great scenes at the end

I was 16 and was in pen 3 i think. Can`t remember much about the game i`d consumed a few tinnies of hofmeister and special brew! There were about 19,000 there which was a huge gate for that season and the atmosphere was loud but tense.

At the end, there were 19,000 ecstatic people on the pitch, and chaired some of the players off such as Rooster Russell. I collected some blades of the hallowed Filbo turf and stuck them in a scrapbook, along with any thing that happened at the match, including chants etc ( i still have this in the loft somewhere).

Being a poor old student i didnt have to money for a taxi from Mkt Bosworth to where i lived in the sticks, so i trundled 6 miles home in the dark!
Reminds me, have to dig out my 1990/91 highlights video.

I was the same, for some reason. Strange given that we were in the bottom 3. Expectations totally different for Saturday.

I was in Pen 1, as the few Oxford fans were housed in the double decker, I think.
I took a radio to listen to the West Brom game, but couldn't hear it !

Much more trepidation for Sunday...

What are u talking about? I thought there were some great players, even in that shite season! Walshy, Kevin Russell was exiting as a supersub.....Gary Mills( great technician )...dazzling Tommy Wright....a battling Ally Mauchlen...though players such as Martin Bodge, sorry Hodge will not be included in the list!

I was a steward in front of Pen 2 charged with the responsibility of stopping the hoards invading the pitch on the final whistle.

When it became clear that I would be unsuccessful, I ditched my stewards jacket and joined in on the pitch.

Claimed it had been nicked off me later.
