I have a feeling we will never see James play for Leicester again and possibly not even play for anyone else.

Squad we have at the minute is more geared towards 3-5-2 IMO due to lack of a number 10 and lack of midfield options.

Schmeichel

Hernandez Huth Morgan
Albrighton Amartey Drinkwater Fuchs
Mahrez
Slimani Vardy

BOOM - leaky bucket of a defence solved
Hernandez tasked with 'the passing out of defence' as opposed to bombscare passing of Morgan who is the most exposed by Kante's departure. Couldn't pass before he arrived, can't pass now he's gone....
Fuchs and Albrighton further forward to utilise their delivery more often
Albrighton on his stronger peg to hit Slimani without having to beat a man.
Mahrez floating to impact the game more
We can drop deep more effectively and with fewer gaps and still hit Vardy on the break if needs be.....

it's the way forward....

I like the idea Sparky but I'm not sure it would solve the defence. I think we're gonna need reinforcements for that.

So, this was 4-5 weeks ago now.

Anybody seen the lesser spotted Mendy since? Anyone?

Three months out so far from a sprained ankle. Am I still the only one to think that there is more to this?

Yes.

He had an operation on it FFS.

You were always the only one.

I'm not saying it is the case here, but I have heard in the past that mental health issues have been reported as more conventional injuries.

I think that it is enough for us to know that he is not fit to play

I think people need to have another watch of the Arsenal game. The lad was very lucky that he didn't break his ankle so this layoff comes as no surprise at all. The incident reminded me of poor Rob Ullathorne.

Aye and players have allegedly been suspended for things and have been covered up for worries about their reaction. sure there was a player out for nearly a year with itchy balls or something, back in the grim old days.

It was a nasty one.

Exactly.

You don't always need to be a medical professional to recognise when an injury looks bad. And that one did. One thing though - and that is it looked unfortunate that he was allowed to try to play on for a bit. But mistakes happen. After all I recall that in ancient times, our left back, Ritchie Norman, was asked to keep playing after what turned out to be a broken leg!

Never thought that Mendy would be back before Christmas. That may prove to be characteristically too optimistic of me.

You might have a better memory than me but I don't recall this happening to Richie Norman. He didn't miss many matches in the eight years he played for City; he was an ever-present for almost four years and never missed more than four games in a row so he would never have time to have recovered from a broken leg. I do recall that Len Chalmers played on in the 1961 Cup Final with a serious leg injury but struggle to think of such an occasion with Norman.

I recall it being widely reported of Allan Evans at Aston Villa sometime in the mid 80s, and have heard of other similar claims.

Tbf though, I broke my back a few years ago and was sent home from the A&E with some dichlorofenac and a flea in my ear before they sent a grovelling letter a couple of weeks later once the consultant saw my x ray. So what hope does a physio on a field have?

I won't believe it until I've seen him holding a newspaper with today's date, and he's given his player ratings for the Middlesbrough match...

Clearly Photoshopped. Look at them pixels.

Everyone knows Mendy has been abducted by aliens really.

It is a complete coincidence that the day we lose Drinkwater until mid December, Mendy appears on the training ground with no sign of his 'injury'.
