Re: Michael Morrison to Sign Tomorrow

ok. do you think we will get promoted this season ?

As far as I was concerned the Second Division aka 'The Championship' was a rubbish league. The football was dire. Somehow we managed to finish in the bottom three despite the amount of money spent on players.

I think a lot of people have yet to appreciate how poor the Third Division will be and maybe it's a question of bringing in a bunch of triers and they will battle their way out of it. On paper, we should have the resources to be in the promotion mix.

However, my gut feeling is that we will have another disappointing feeling. Somehow the club continues to give off the bad vibes of a declining outfit. Presumably at some point, things must change for the better and let's hope that is this season.

A great big Talking Balls welcome to the completely unknown duffer :038:

Re: Michael Morrison to Sign Tomorrow

I love the confidence of some people on here, any player we are linked with automatically has the potential to be a good player, and anybody we sell was shite in the first place.

I'm I the only one who is worried that we are getting rid of players with experience of Prem/Champ and replacing them with players who have never played above League 1? Its all very well and good saying they might have the desire and right attitude to take us forward but if they arent good enough, they arent good enough!

Firstly we have only signed one player so far. Secondly we had players with premier and championship experience last year, they got us us relegated. As pointed out by someone else, our most prized assets where either signed from leagues below or from our youth setup.

This kid has played over a 100 games for the first team of Cambridge which is some acheivment, Best of luck

Also on the OS it state's "Further signings are to be annouced later on today"

It's going to be a very, very exciting day........

Only a football fan can have the logic that we had players with prem/champ experience last season and went down so obviously we need no expereince to go back up again :icon_lol::icon_lol:

That's what he's afraid of....

You never know Homer we might even sign somebody that we have heard of!

That wouldn't be exciting at all - more likely to be utterly soul destroying

It's much more fun when it's some complete random johnny that nobody has ever heard of - means we can scour the t'internet for some obscure write up of some game he once played well in

The point is that neither will guarantee you success.

Anyone else worry that the quote of "He comes with some outstanding recommendations and I am looking forward to working with him." means this could be a MM signing?

I'll be supraised if MM has actually heard of him before?

:icon_conf Obviously not, but one gives you a better chance of success :icon_wink

He trained with Newcastle when Pearson was there.

Of course he would have!

Phone rings

MM: Hello

Agent: I have find an awesome player for you!

MM: Who?

Agent: erm, Michael Morrison

MM: Get him in. I will give you £1m and the player £10,000 a week

To be honest, alex, I couldn't imagine anyone that is less likely to be a Mandaric signing

Unknown clogger from the conference - not Milan's M.O., is it ?

Doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing though
