What exactly does Matt Oakley do for this team? For a captain, he is too quick to shrug his shoulders or flap his arms about. I reckon one of Mawsley's chickens could do a better job.

As for the match, and the cockwad of a ref, I am still fuming.

If a player deserves to get stick then fair enough, but when the first two goals come from shitty passes to a player who hasn't got long enough legs to reach it(Oakley one-though he did fall over, the lummox. And Wellens the second) and then it leads to the goal, it never fails to amaze me how one player gets abuse and the other player for almost the exact same thing doesn't.

That said, both times the ball SHOULD'VE been cleared from the box, but wasn't.

Whether we played well or not wasn't the issue for me today. The standard of referring was.
It was absolutely abysmal and by far the worst ref I have seen this season. Though perhaps being from up near that neck of the woods accounts for his blatant bias in almost all the decisions he made today.

Our players were being hacked down all over the place but he hardly gave any free kicks, let alone brandish any yellow cards at Boro players that seemed to appear all too quickly in his hands when it came to our lot. All the crucial moments happened up the other end of the pitch so will need to see them again properly, but it certainly looked a good penalty appeal from Yakubu, and another one later on by Kamara.
Their penalty: Well it looked as though our lads were claiming it was the shoulder not the hand, but how close range the shot was to the body that got in the way....justice was done with the penalty save imo.
And Bruma shouldn't have showed dissent, but how pisspoor the ref was I can understand him venting his annoyance.

As for Bruma himself, I don't like him.:icon_sad: I think we look more shaky at the back with him there.
Kamara however I thought did well today, was full of running, chased after the ball and put himself about. Supported Yak well and it was a pity he couldn't be on the scoresheet( it amazed me that Yakubu was one of our worst players first half-alongside Oakley and the anonymous Gallagher yet he has the hat-trick and Kamara who did well, not a sniff of a goal!)

I don't like Gally playing where he did first half, he was like he wasn't on the pitch, so it was strange second half that when he was more involved in the game he was subbed for Abe, I was sure Sven would take Oakley off instead.

I'm gutted tbh we couldn't hold out for the three points, and it felt like we lost. But I guess I can take a grain of comfort that I'm not a Middlesbrough fan, a dump of a town with a ground in an industrial park, and they are so shite that even with the ref on their side and playing against 10 men they still couldn't win!(Oh and their ground looks like a red version of The Rickety- no fans and soulless!!)

Slightly off topic.

I really don't think the town or ground are that bad. Went for a walk around there it was pretty much like every other town in the country which is based around a shopping centre. It's not too much of a walk to the ground either from there with a fair few pubs in between. Surprised me tbh.

Reckon Reading might not be the same surprise though.

I also liked how Kamara made a point of going to shake the refs hand as he was subbed.

And how Stowell didn't have a problem telling the ref EXACTLY what he thought of him at the end either.

Next time we are televised it would be worth them keeping a TV camera on Mike Stowell. I am a Sven fan and admire the way he keeps himself under control but all the fun on the bench comes from Stowell,

He was straight over to the ref after the whistle.

Summat looked like it was said between Oakley and their keeper as well, Oakley went over and shook his hand, and then words were said and the keeper stood there holding his hands up... in fact, several players looked like they were having words with other other!

The thing that makes me laugh is that you can see a genuinely pisspoor game from an official, but the managers and players aren't allowed to comment on the officiating cos they'll get bollocked by the FL/FA but refs never seem to be willing to offer any explanation behind decisions which, tbh baffle everyone watching.

They had that RESPECT crap going on before the game with banners etc....well tbh how on earth can you expect players and fans to show respect to a numpty who is clearly biased in his decision-making during the game. It wasn't just one or two minor incidents, it was near on every incident! He might as well have had a red shirt on it was that blatant.

tbh BF you are on the same wavelength as me, this RESPECT bollocks is just that.. if refs arent accountable for their (often blatant) mistakes it makes the whole thing laughable.

Interestingly, the Wigan fan (and qualified ref) that Sidekick had with her thought the ref got most of the decisions right. I wonder if he's got problems with his eyesight...

Four eggs from four birds today.

Again.

If only Oakley could produce a guaranteed result like that, eh?

:lightbulb Terrible little town, full of terrible little people.

Would you say that Leicester is a salubrious town, full of loving examples of humanity?

Don't kid yourself. They're both ****ing shitholes, both populated by a mix of arseholes and barely humans

hi. im a boro fan and obviously from the boro. i always come to the forums that my team is playing just to have a little read etc.

and i felt the urge to register, because i see that people on here are chatting shit about middlesbrough town.

ok firstly, middlesbrough, in places IS a shithole. but seriously, do you people who call middlesbrough a shithole even know what middlesbrough as a whole looks like? i live in middlesbrough, and i can tell you it is alot better than many places in england. ENGLAND ITSELF IS A SHITHOLE BY THE WAY, but middlesbrough, like many places, has bad parts, AND, good parts. but ignorent people do not see it. because they have never been. lol.....i can walk 10 mins and be at eston hills, i can drive 15 mins and be at roseberry topping. i can drive 5 mins and be at middlesbrough town centre, which is a nice little town centre. you seen it? probley not. i could go on and on about the good parts of middlesbrough, but you fools just like to think middlesbrough is that industrial shithole. it is not. it is like anywere else in the country. you do know we have pubs? nightclubs? parks? just like in leister? your all weirdos. always putting middlesbrough down and you dont even know what it looks like, the way fans who come to middlesbrough actually only see the INDUSTRIAL PART OF MIDDLESBROUGH. thick *****. and then they think thats what it all looks like. pathetic. oh yeh we do have alot of chavs, but guess what ? they dont go around stabbing people and shooting people like they do in alot of other places in england.

the middlesbrough people are passionate about our town, even though it is a little rough in places, the people are great. but you ignorent fools would not know....

oh yeh and i bet you idiots dont know what middlesbrough is in the process of doing ? well, we are regnerating the town. google 'middlesbrough middlehaven' you will see that we are actually building a new community near the riverside stadium. we have built about 3 buildings up to now....many more to come. and i think it will look great. idiots.

and yeh ive mispelled some words because i type fast, and cant be assed editing the words. so dont say anything about my spelling. :)
