and yeh ive mispelled some words because i type fast, and cant be assed editing the words. so dont say anything about my spelling. :)

If you had bothered to check the whole forum, instead of just this shithole of a thread, you'd realise there's no way you'll get away with sloppy spelling and grammar. This is a nice forum but even we have our own share of dickheads!

To be honest though boro boy, it's exactly the same thing as fans say when they've been to Leicester and many other cities that aren't their own. Don't take it all so seriously.

oh yeh and i bet you idiots dont know what middlesbrough is in the process of doing ? well, we are regnerating the town. google 'middlesbrough middlehaven' you will see that we are actually building a new community near the riverside stadium. we have built about 3 buildings up to now....many more to come. and i think it will look great. idiots.

What's that building with the curve and silver cladding, that's a beauty.

I've done loads of grounds now and always make a point of visiting each town. Quite a lot are pretty much the same, Boro's nowhere the worst. Hull, Coventry and Luton score very low.

lol well i took it serious this time because i see alot of people always putting boro down.

a couple of years ago, as you may already know, middlesbrough did get voted the worst place to live in the uk. but what you might not know is alot of what they said was wrong. thats why middlesbrough mayer and co complained against the programme location location location.

theres actually a documentary being made by the same show, or channel 4 that is gunna show the good parts of middlesbrough. the were filming here a couple weeks ago.

you may have also seen the great jeff stelling sticking up for us a few years back also hehe:) just search youtube 'jeff stelling sticking up for middlesbrough' haha.

Oh yeah Stevenage makes you worry about the human race.

I know where you're coming from Boro, I am very protective off my city and the country as a whole when comes to folk saying 'shitehole this, shitehole that'.

haha thought so, but actually, alot of people say it is ugly looking.....i like it though. ya cant please everyone i guess. always people gunna 'chat shit' about things. :)

hi. im a boro fan and obviously from the boro. i always come to the forums that my team is playing just to have a little read etc.

and i felt the urge to register, because i see that people on here are chatting shit about middlesbrough town.

ok firstly, middlesbrough, in places IS a shithole. but seriously, do you people who call middlesbrough a shithole even know what middlesbrough as a whole looks like? i live in middlesbrough, and i can tell you it is alot better than many places in england. ENGLAND ITSELF IS A SHITHOLE BY THE WAY, but middlesbrough, like many places, has bad parts, AND, good parts. but ignorent people do not see it. because they have never been. lol.....i can walk 10 mins and be at eston hills, i can drive 15 mins and be at roseberry topping. i can drive 5 mins and be at middlesbrough town centre, which is a nice little town centre. you seen it? probley not. i could go on and on about the good parts of middlesbrough, but you fools just like to think middlesbrough is that industrial shithole. it is not. it is like anywere else in the country. you do know we have pubs? nightclubs? parks? just like in leister? your all weirdos. always putting middlesbrough down and you dont even know what it looks like, the way fans who come to middlesbrough actually only see the INDUSTRIAL PART OF MIDDLESBROUGH. thick *****. and then they think thats what it all looks like. pathetic. oh yeh we do have alot of chavs, but guess what ? they dont go around stabbing people and shooting people like they do in alot of other places in england.

the middlesbrough people are passionate about our town, even though it is a little rough in places, the people are great. but you ignorent fools would not know....
So... it's a normal town then? Yes, we knew that.
oh yeh and i bet you idiots dont know what middlesbrough is in the process of doing ? well, we are regnerating the town. google 'middlesbrough middlehaven' you will see that we are actually building a new community near the riverside stadium. we have built about 3 buildings up to now....many more to come. and i think it will look great. idiots.
How do you know the people you're addressing are idiots? Have you met them? Have you assessed them academically?

No chance.
Well said.
You having a laugh?

Yes, we do. Well pointed out.

Seriously, there are dozens of places far worse than Middlesbrough. Boro, have you ever been to Hinckley, Nuneaton, Coventry, Swansea, Luton, Hull, Leeds, Birkenhead, Billingham (heh), Louth, Grimsby, Loughborough, Bermondsey, Handsworth (West Mids), Cwmbran, Milton Keynes, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Newport, Coalville, Oldham or Londonderry?

Oh and Mansfield. Obviously. Mansfield is the worst place in the world. You know, people in Darfur console themselves with the fact they don't live in Mansfield.

bluemaniac:

no i have not met them, and they may be nice people, but they were talking shite about boro, so i just called them idiots :)

to be honest though england is a dull country. but im from boro and know it isnt as bad as people make out. i can also say that the part of boro i hate is the HORRIBLE SOUTHBANK AND GRANGETOWN. they are the estates that are close to the steel works. it all need knocking down.

One thing that did amuse me last night was seeing several commments on people's FB statuses from different people saying there was no way we were going to win that game with that ref.

Now despite how shit most of us think he was(I'm ignoring Sidekicks mate cos a)he's a wigan fan so should be following Rugby League and b) he's a ref so is sticking up for his own!:icon_razz) going into the stoppage time we were in fact WINNING.

So errrr yeah, we could've and indeed SHOULD'VE won that game despite the help Boro had from the ref.

lol beuomont.

seriously though, what is actually 'wrong' with were the ground is placed? i dont understand. i think it is better than being built in between a housing estate....'example, anfield'. personally, i like were the riverside is built, its good exercise also for when we walk to the game. and as ive said, all of that dock near the riverside is getting regenerated....it will look good in a couple of years.

Can we clearly establish that 'XXXXX is a shithole' could apply to parts of almost any city or town on earth (and most probably cities / towns on other life-bearing planets in the universe).

From someone who lives in that 'shithole' Loughborough, but actually thinks it's alright

So anyway, boroandproud, what do you think accounts for Middlesbrough's failure over the past two seasons? This isn't a piss-take, it's a genuine question and I'd like to hear what someone who follows them actually thinks.

east anglia fox:

well, i believe it all started when mclaren left after the uefa cup final, and then steve gibson appointed southgate as manager. from here, it started to go downhill.

but anyways, when we appointed gordan strachan, we thought it might of worked out, but what he did was destroy our team. he thought that buying the likes of kris boyd...scott mcdonald...barry robson...steven mcmanus, and a few others all from scotland would fire boro to promotion.

(can you believe kris boyd is the scottish league's all time top scorer?)

but it was a failure, strachan did not have a clue while he was here, he played players out of position, and kept changing it around weekly.

in our local papers, all we heard weekly was how things would change and get better. but it just did not happen, and then finally strachan give in. ( i think he did this at coventry? i saw a person from coventry come to the boro forum and say strachan will fuk ya team up then walk away). and he did just that.

theres alot more stuff to it though, like financial stuff. in the past few years steve gibson was so determined to make boro into a bigger club, he gave alot of money to our managers, to try and succeed. but it was wasted on the liked of afonso alves 13 million, mido 6 million, and the liked of didier digard, who has done fukall since he been here, and he is actually still a boro player out on loan, apparently the highest earner in the boro sqaud. i think its 40k a week. we also baught emnes, which i think is a good player but doesnt score much....and theres rumours around boro that boro are on the brink of going bust. steve gibson normally goes on radio and answers questions from us fans, but he dropped out of 1 a couple of months ago and we heard nothing from him for ages now.

but now, you can see tony mowbray is doing a GREAT job. he has inherited a shit team left over from strachan, and actually turned them into a more solid sqaud. everyone is now playing better and we are winning more and actually have a little more fight in us when we concede. we need to win sheffutd next week and i say we are safe from the drop. also, our attendances aint helping, i see alot of people saying boro fans are crap, our stadium is empty all the time etc, but middlesbrough is really not a big town and think about it, the stadium maybe is a little to big for our fanbase. and the attendance as dropped due to the poor football, and also due to alot of the jobs that were lost in middlesbrough, over the corus plant. 16k were at the game yesterday...( about 15k boro fans)i think thats ok for now. lol

yeh, i miss them days in the premier leage, and the UEFA CUP. can ya believe boro got to a uefa final ? was amazing.
